Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai in Fountain Valley is an outstanding choice for Ramen Bowls and other Japanese delights. The staff is super friendly here and you will feel right at home upon entering. Not surprisingly, the menu features an impressively wide array of Ramens; broths and noodle styles alike. I went with their Winter / Spring Seasonal Special, a beautiful bowl of Mizore Ramen Deluxe which is described as Kitakata Style Shoyu Ramen with grated Daikon Radish and Yuzu Pepper. M’wah, absolutely delicious! I followed that up with a very tasty Aburi Chashu Plate. All this and hot tea for $38, including tax and tip. I’m always looking for a great Ramen place and this is certainly one of my favorite finds. Highly recommended.

Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai is great! Their spicy ramen was excellent—rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of heat. It’s the kind of bowl that feels especially ideal if you’re a little under the weather. The noodles are wonderfully springy, the broth is full of depth, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. The service is quick and friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. If you’re craving truly great ramen, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back

Super friendly greeting as we walked in…and good service.
The ramen was great and huge servings! I ate and ate and the more I ate the more noodles seemed to fill the bowl! All sorts of side options to personalize your ramen too! Beer, sake, tea…nice little selection of appetizers…try the fried chicken! Nom nom yum yum! We’ll be back to feast again soon!

Food was delicious as always. This is my go to favorite ramen place for their gluten free noodles alone. My order was ready about ten minutes later than expected but that’s understandable on a busy rainy Friday night. Overall would definitely recommend

When it comes to ramen, I’m a purist: I need my noodles thick, curly, and wonderfully chewy; and that’s exactly what Kitakata Ramen delivers! As someone who grew up on Kung Fu noodles (if you know, you know!), anything else is a no-go for me.

The service here is truly top-notch. From the moment you walk in, the welcome is warm and genuine, coming from every staff member, including the chefs. I especially love coming for the lunch combo deals.

I usually go for the Rich Miso Ramen soup with their famous Juicy Fried Chicken. The broth is savory and satisfying, especially when customized with my go-to additions: seasoned eggs, fried garlic, and seaweed. Pro tip: dipping the fried chicken in the rich soup is a game-changer, and that mayo sauce? FIYAH!

They even bid you a heartfelt goodbye as you leave. That’s traditional, family-style customer service, treating you like a guest, not just a customer. I’ll be back as always!

New location of Ramen Kitakata Ban Nai finally opened! This place is bigger than the Costa Mesa location and has plenty of parking. Service is fast. Food is okay, recommended the Spicy Miso Ramen. Staffs need to smile and be more friendly. Overall good.

This place is awesome. We usually go to the Costa Mesa location but this location is much larger and has tons more parking. Food is the same as other location. We had no issues with service. Highly recommend Kitakata. One thing to add and its super random but it is fricken cold inside this joint so take something to cover up with

Thumbs up for the service. The server was attentive and friendly! The restaurant has a welcoming vibe. Now for the food, if you come for a typical ramen out there, (some chains have ruined with simplicity), don’t expect much here. I first felt odd trying this Spicy Miso Ramen because it had a little bit of sourness to the soup; but as a whole, once it brought altogether with the veggies and spicy broth and became a different taste and experience. Also, chashu was bomb! Soft but still some chewy texture.
My 7-yr-old son who has experienced more than 20 different ramen shops, he will be back for more!

Efficient and friendly staff. Go there before 6pm for an early dinner and you won’t have to wait. I usually order their namesake ramen and a few toppings such as charsu, bamboo, spicy sesame green onions, eggs and nappa cabbage. Of course to be shared with others…
