We stopped here on the way to Philmont. Loved the Southwest Feal of the place. Staff was wonderful and accommodating. Food was some of the best breakfast food I had every had and helpings were large. Our scouts loved it so much they also wanted to stop by for our post trail dinner too but the place was closed. Because of popular demand wound up stopping here on our way back out of town instead of having the dinning hall meal that morning. This place is on the list to visit next time we are in town.

We came on a whim after asking a local at the nearby shopping mart where we could stop and eat. This place was so cozy. We were the only ones in the restaurant for a bit so we had the servers and cooks full attention, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. The goldminer bites were delicious especially when paired with the spicy ranch. The gumbo was surprisingly our favorite thing on the menu. Even our picky eater enjoyed it. But, that doesn’t mean the other things we got were bad. The rest of the food was delicious and fried perfectly. The burger with the pretzel bun worked well together and my sister enjoyed it. I will say that the hours posted online might not be accurate so just drive by and check if it’s actually closed.

Kit Carson team, you are wonderful! I had the pleasure of eating with you over 3 days in June. The staff are welcoming, attentive, and super friendly, our breakfasts were tasty and filling, with a never ending flow of coffee. Having visited from the UK me and my partner often revisit the memories created in Cimarron and we always mention our time at Kit Carson. We miss you!

We were recommended this place for breakfast from the St. James Hotel and it was a great recommendation! I had the crepes and they were possibly the best dang crepes I have ever had! All of our dishes were on point and the staff was amazing! When we come to stay again, we will definitely be stopping back in for breakfast

The Thanksgiving dinner was the best food I’ve has since leaving the Deep South. Nothing was dry or overcooked. Everything perfectly spiced. The cooks here know what they are doing!

Great breakfast. Enjoyed the eggs burritos gravy pancakes crepes, Pat Benit was all good. Great stop after Red River & Eagles Nest on way out of town to home! Highly recommend. Bathrooms clean! Forgot to take pics. Only food left.
EDIT: came through again on our way back from Skiing at Red River, NM. Food still fantastic. I remembered this time to take pics before it all got devoured. Our hostess Winter was very sweet.

We did Christmas Day dinner here and it was amazing. The food was PHENOMENAL (prime rib, baked potato, all the fixings and, of course, dessert). I am picky about beef and this was done perfectly. Red velvet cake and German chocolate cake were both delicious. More than the food, Rhonda and her folks were the sweetest, kindest people and that elevated the whole experience to the next level. I wasn’t feeling super festive when I walked in, but they put me in the Christmas spirit before I left. Worth the drive and we’ll be back soon! Also really looking forward to their food truck coming to Questa in near future!

We stopped through here while road tripping with a group of friends. The food and service was fantastic, no detail was forgotten, the wait time was appropriate and the prices were even more reasonable
