Kissin’ Cuzzins has been a St. Pete breakfast landmark for decades — the kind of place where the coffee’s always hot, the waitresses call you “hon,” and the pancakes come out looking like they belong in a Southern postcard. But like many longtime diners, it’s showing a little of its age.
While some of the spark that made it a local favorite has faded — service can be hit-or-miss, and the place doesn’t quite hum with the same energy it once had — the kitchen still knows its way around a griddle. The breakfast stacks for me, remain the real draw: fluffy golden pancakes layered with sliced bananas, clouds of whipped cream, and a generous sprinkle of pecans that add that perfect crunch. It’s indulgent, nostalgic, and pure comfort food done the old-fashioned way.
Kissin’ Cuzzins may not be the same as it was in its prime, but it’s still worth a visit when you’re craving a little trip down memory lane.
Must-try: The banana nut pancake stack — it’s a sweet reminder of why this local favorite earned its reputation in the first place.

Little expensive for what it is.
Me and my son, he got pancakes sure of bacon, I got eggs Benedict and iced tea.
$43.00. I pay less than that at the beach for less and much better food.

Amazing food, service and overall atmosphere! This restaurant takes you right back to Meemaw’s kitchen! From scrumptious scrambled eggs to puffy pancakes ! Homemade made Mac n cheese made our taste buds melt ! And the staff is absolutely incredible they are very attentive and kind. We just happened to drive past this place as we were heading to Wendy’s but decided to U-Turn it right back to Kissin’ Cuzzins Restaurant, and it did not disappoint. A definite must-try when visiting St. Pete!

Stepping into Kissing Cousins in St. Petersburg feels a bit like returning to a family diner you never realized you missed. The ambiance is all about that down-home warmth—friendly faces, kind waitresses, and a sense that you’re part of their extended family the moment you sit down.
Now, let’s talk about the food. I dove into their Steak Benedict special, which arrives with a choice of sides. After a bit of delightful indecision—chicken pot pie or sweet potato pancakes, or even a veggie omelet made a little wicked with some added ham—I went full-on for the Steak Benedict. And here’s the scoop: the side dish, a hearty potato mix with onions and a few other surprises, brings that comforting, homestyle flavor that makes you feel like you’re at a Sunday family brunch. It’s the kind of dish that doesn’t just feed you; it hugs you.
As for the Benedict itself, it’s exquisitely done. While the plating might be a touch on the casual side—let’s call it rustic charm— also a very big one because of my mother, the bathrooms, and the ramp don’t seem to be very easily wheelchair accessible. If you have a larger chair, I have a time maneuvering, this might not be the place for you. Sadly, it’s an older place and that happens. The flavors are top-notch. It’s an A- in the world of dining, and that’s a solid win. So if you’re in the area, definitely swing by Kissing Cousins. They get a warm 4.5 stars from me—great food, lovely people, and a place that feels like a cozy little slice of home. Ask for Jesse. She’s great with honest recommendations and then April a southern sass that comes with ol Florida. If she’s not a local, she plays it right!

Stopped in for a late morning breakfast after leaving the veterinary office, I had two eggs over lite and grits and coffee☕, my wife had the Belgian waffle and bacon , and a small tomato juice,, the food was the highlight of this meal as everything was cooked absolutely perfect hot and fresh, the service, the prices, and the atmosphere leave a little to be desired, the interior atmosphere is old and outdated and the prices are high for breakfast items, But like I said we really enjoyed the meal , and the added charge for using a credit card or debit is ?????

Service was amazing…pancakes, a delicious appetizer (yes, I order appetizers at breakfast ) The chocolate chip pancake came out with chips on top and I thought that was it, but those were just toppings in addition to the tons of chips in the actual pancake! A ‘side’ of grits were a cereal bowl size of piping hot grits, Will seasoned and cheese on top…The corned beef hash omelet was diviiiiiiiine! Packed full of corned beef and topped with a ton of corned beef! If you find yourself in the area and are wanting a fantastic meal, I highly recommend this place!
