I came here for dinner recently and thought that it was alright. The interior of the restaurant consists of an omakase bar in the back and a cocktail bar at the front. As we did the 11-course omakase, we were seated at the cocktail bar (the omakase bar was reserved for only 15-courses that evening). The host (and our server for the evening) was absolutely amazing and so kind.

The sake that I was recommended to be paired with the course was amazing. I really loved how light, fruity, and a bit sweet the sake was. The course consisted of 2 appetizers, 8 nigiri, and 1 dessert. The two appetizers were probably the highlight of the meal. The first was mackerel paired with fermented miso, and I’ve never had anything like it before. The second was a 3-bite tuna on pumpkin tempura, with one bite consisting of a caviar topping, another with wasabi, and the last with truffle. I loved both appetizers, and thought they were some of the most unique ones I’ve had from an omakase experience. The nigiri, however, were thinner cuts of fish, the garnishes weren’t paired well (I felt like it didn’t highlight the fish), and the rice felt a bit dry. Overall, if the nigiri were just a bit better I would’ve loved this.

Loved the Omakase experience at the counter and our sushi chef Ryan! It was exceptional! My personal favorite was the tuna with a hazelnut inside with mushrooms on top. The miso black cod with rice on the side as an appetizer is a close second. They are strict on being punctual, but that’s part of the experience for all the pieces come out timely.

For USD 135, the 15-course omakase offers solid value. The overall sushi experience was good, with a few standout bites — particularly the hand roll and the scallop with corn sauce, which were well-executed and memorable.

While the remaining courses were more on the okay to good side rather than exceptional, the service consistently stood out. The team was attentive, warm, and professional throughout the meal.

A special mention to the chef for the extra portion of pre-dessert, which was a thoughtful and generous gesture that elevated the overall experience.

Final take: Good value omakase with reliable service and a few highlights. Thank you, Chef.

This is their “omakase”. Don’t go.

We learned that their sushi bar is only for the people who order 15-course omakase on Fridays and Saturdays after we got the dish in the photo and that we were seated at their “drink bar” because we only got a 10-course omakase on a Friday. Never seen an omakase like this before.

There were two great things about this place: the waitress was incredibly gracious and she tries really hard, and there were many other diners who were attractive looking people in beautiful clothes.

But food wise… meh. Unfortunately it was quite average for the price. We were sitting in front of the bath rooms and that wasn’t so good either.

Kissaki used to be one of my favorites. This was my fifth time going for omakase, and the sushi is not as good as it used to be. Still good quality, just not mind-blowing, and there are other restaurants that have better sushi at this price point.

Service is usually pretty good, but this time we had a reservation and had to wait 30 minutes past the reservation time. They gave us a drink on the house for this, which we appreciated.

Loved this meal! The staff were very friendly and the sushi was incredible! Reasonable portions, a full and wide variety of fish in the Omakase. The meal was a nice take on where trendy meets traditional!

I would highly recommend and will be coming back!

Had some hesitation about coming here given the 4.3 star rating on Maps, but throughout my experience I grew increasingly confused as to why Kissaki would receive lower than 5 stars. My group opted for the longer omakase option (2 hr/15 course) and we all found the preparation, presentation, and pacing was perfect. The soup may have been the least exciting dish, but it was still pretty good. The rest of the fish and caviar in different forms were just brilliant throughout the omakase. The chef was courteous and attentive to how fast or slow we were eating – all staff were kind, quick, and made sure our cups were full. Don’t understand why this place got lower ratings.

Wow, it’s my first time seeing so many whole fish at an omakase restaurant!
They have their own Fishery and Wildlife License, allowing them to source the finest fish directly from Japanese fishing areas ✌️

The environment here is elegant and comfortable. Each course is generously prepared with thick, high-quality sashimi that’s fresh and has a unique flavor.
I really liked the nigiri with yuzu sauce, which was refreshing and delicate.

The most impressive course was the second appetizer; it had a crispy nori base topped with layers of corn, toro, caviar, and black truffle, creating a crunchy, fresh, and rich taste.
I still crave it after finishing it Definitely a must-try!

The third course was like melon wrapped around rice grains, showing the chef’s sense of fun and innovation Not to be missed!
Looking forward to discovering new surprises on my next visit!

Staff was friendly though not overly engaging which I thought was nice. The meal definitely felt rushed even though was only 6 people in the restaurant at the time. Quality of sushi was mid considering price, only 1 to 2 pieces really stood out.

They were also out a lot of things, half the sake menu wasn’t available and they couldn’t make a 3rd of their cocktails.

Overall, I’m not upset that I went, but won’t be going back.
