I stumbled into this hidden gem and was rewarded with some amazingly smoked meats and a unique take on a classic appetizer prepared by pitmaster Chris a Cajun transplant. The owner Ken, sat and talked with us the entire time. He made me feel like I was a professional food critic. I can’t wait to make another trip out to Alstead to visit Ken and sample more Chris’ excellent cuisine! Thank you both for a great experience!

The food is out of this world! There aren’t many good places around me but this is amazing. I usually eat vegan or vegetarian but when I am going to celebrate meat and have some, this is the perfect place to do it. There are other options for non-meat eaters too! I had the rhubarb pie and it’s to die for. Enjoy exploring this gem!

Great pulled pork!! Great service!! Michelle was awesome! The collard greens were yummy and their spiciness was perfect. Excellent corn bread with melted maple butter to put on it. Wonderful spot. Can’t wait to try brunch here.

My husband and I always get the combo plater with the corn bread and potato salad or the cucumber salad. Absolutely delicious. The home made sauces are great on the chicken, brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. Recently when we took my in-laws here we had a minor problem with one of the meals and the owner made a new order and brought over a free cheesecake. Great customer service! As usual, we will be back.

INCREDIBLE BBQ! Ken seriously knows his stuff and his cook, Chris…can I just hoard all the fried pickles! The most unique way to have those as I’ve never had them like that any where else. Fall off the bone ribs and some of the best sauces! Go for the spice, it won’t let you down. Awesome customer service too. Felt like we were eating in our own kitchen with family. Highly recommend and I WILL be back and plan to bring the parents and in-laws for the next visit. Thank you for the collard greens!!

Excellent BBQ!! Corn bread is simply delicious! Other sides are also very good, just slightly small portion size for those. Meat portions are generous though! 🙂 Definitely worth the trip off the beaten path! 5 out of 5 without a doubt!

Fabulous food! Limited menu choices, but everything is fantastic. Pulled pork or chicken and the brisket are wonderful. Homemade sauces to add just the right amount of extra flavor. Corn bread and honey butter could be a meal on its own.

Absolutely love this hidden gem. A little off the main roads but only 5 minutes from route 12 in walpole and 15 minutes from I-91 in Vermont. Some of the best barbecue I’ve had. I highly recommend the cornbread and Mac cheese as sides, my partner absolutely loves the potato salad. Fresh pastries, coffee and a 5☆ brunch on sundays. So whether you’re looking for a full meal or quick snack this is the place to go!!!

We tried the pulled pork and the brisket and they were both just okay. The pulled pork was kinda dry. Both meats were bland and needed a lot of BBQ sauce, which was good. The sides were okay, thought the beans had great flavor but again were dry, the mac & cheese was bland. The brownies were overcooked and the outside edges were rock hard not able to eat. We liked the atmosphere inside and the staff was friendly though a bit disorganized. We hope they continue to improve as they have a lot of potential.
