Pricing is on par with the area. Park at the Japan Town parking lot. Service was first rate. Immediately were seated and didn’t have to wait long to order. Interesting interior, modern with an anime theme. Great place for family and friends. Will come back again to try the rolls. They look really good.
1. Pest Infestation: my friends and I clearly saw two live cockroaches running under my table. This indicates a serious and unacceptable level of filth.
2. Gross Hygiene: we witnessed staff sneezing directly at the food being prepared. Absolutely disgusting! It’s a clear public health violation.
3. EXTREMELY RUDE SERVICE: Staff and owner were rude and unprofessional, adding insult to the overall terrible experience. They give you 2 minutes to order before they start rolling their eyes. They don’t bring out plates and water unless you order a drink from the menu. They give you the check 15 minutes after you eat. THEY RUSH YOU to pay so they can sit new customers. See the lowest reviews, I’m not the only being scammed.
That’s why they always seem empty, even on the weekends. I sometimes walk by and see that they only have 2 people sitting inside while there’s a line outside the real Japanese restaurants around them.
4. They’re Koreans but they try to advertise the place as an authentic Japanese. They’re not Japanese, in case you’re looking for authenticity. The seafood quality here is extremely bad. Worst sushi/noodle you’ll ever eat, with an attitude from a “beachy” waitress (see photos)! She literally yelled and sighed at us for not ordering after 2′.
3.1 is their rating on Yelp. Do not eat here unless you want to be bullied! The management & staff shows a total disregard for basic cleanliness and customer safety. This place is a severe health hazard and must be avoided. My experience was absolutely appalling. Already reported this establishment to the FDA (I know this place will try to claim that I’ve never been there, but I’m not lying, see the photos).
The staff was not rude, but just don’t expect “welcome how are you/any questions about the menu/any allergies/how are you finding everything/would you like to order any more food” etc.
Very reasonable lunch prices <$20, lots of combination options with some requiring extra $1-3 add-on.
Generous slices of very fresh tasty fish! Quickly seated. Went on a weekday lunchtime – quite quiet at 12:30pm but half full by 1pm.
We shared a Sushi Combination order, consisting of 9 pieces of nigiri, all of which were delicious. I settled with the Katsu Don, which served a generous portion of fried pork and egg over rice. While my friend ordered the Nabeyaki Udon, my favorite feature was the broth, which gave off lots of umami flavor.
Although a delicious meal, with the service being both attentive and welcoming at first, we didn’t appreciate feeling rushed out. As I mentioned before, it started getting busy by the time we left, to which it felt like the owner himself was rushing us out, even spilling some soy sauce (almost on my friend) on our table as he haphazardly cleared our plates. Again, that was not very appreciated, although good food, the service needs to be worked on.
The staff was genuinely kind and made us feel right at home. The sushi was delicious and clearly made with care. Such a great spot—can’t wait to return!
The miso is also not salty.
The California roll is average, and the spider roll was ok.
The staff was nice enough but the elder lady just seemed to rush us along too much. We didn’t enjoy that.
The tea, also wasn’t very hot. Thought that was weird.
As others stated, the management and staff can be extremely rude and pushy. Do not come here within a 30min – 1 hour before closing otherwise you will be harassed to pay them and leave a minute after receiving your food.
I paid a second visit here last Friday. First time was an extremely busy holiday weekend and I was pressured to pay after having my meal dropped off. I visited with 2 friends who were visiting the Bay area and looking to get dinner, one of whom only landed at SFO an hour earlier!
We dropped in at 8:30 pm. Our mistake. They close at 9, and you’d think if they were not ok with us sitting in, they could have just said that and we would have been fine. No, they allowed us to sit. One friend immediately went to the bathroom and not even did we get 1 min to look at the menu did the server come and ask “You ready to order??” And we said “No we are not..our friend is still in the restroom” and the server let us know we are the last to order because they leave at 9.
We finally got to order and got the food quickly. As soon as the food was dropped at the table, again, the check soon followed.
I didnt sign immediately because I was trying to eat and the manager came over to tell me to sign the check.
There was banging and noise from staff making their way out before the restaurant closed. We felt as though they would have locked us in.
Honestly the food and atmosphere were unmemorable since my experience was so sour.
They shouldn’t accept patrons after a certain time if they plan to kick people out. Do not come here.
