Reviews
The food came out quickly and the quality was top-notch. Great flavors, great variety, and everything tasted fresh. The coconut brown sugar drink was absolutely delicious and a must-try.
The restaurant itself is very clean, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated. I loved how the staff uniforms reflected Asian cultural elements—it added an authentic touch to the atmosphere.
I would 100% recommend Kinya Ramen to anyone looking for excellent food, outstanding service, and a warm, inviting dining environment. Will definitely be returning!
The service was exceptional. Our waitress was professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly. She took the time to recommend drinks and menu options, and her suggestions were excellent. It’s always appreciated when staff members are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about what they serve.
The food truly stood out. Everything arrived quickly, yet nothing felt rushed or poorly prepared. The ramen featured a rich, flavorful broth with fresh toppings and perfectly cooked noodles. The chicken dishes were crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and beautifully presented. Each item we ordered reflected attention to detail and high-quality ingredients.
Although there are several restaurants in our area that offer similar cuisine, none compare to this Kinya Ramen location in terms of flavor, speed, cleanliness, and overall service. This establishment sets a higher standard.
I highly recommend Kinya Ramen to anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience. I will absolutely be returning.
Kicking things off with a true hidden gem for my Fashion & Food series: Kinya Ramen in Linden. An elevated take on Japanese comfort food, executed beautifully. Every dish was rich, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared, and the atmosphere was just as warm and inviting as the staff. A must-visit spot that’s absolutely worth experiencing for yourself. I’ll definitely be returning.
After my partner first surprised me here (knowing how much I love cooking ramen at home!), I knew I had to bring my sister and her partner back for a family catch-up dinner. Even on my second visit, Kinya Ramen & Sushi continues to be a standout “critic’s pick” for me.
The Experience
Walking in, you are immediately transported. The decor gives off a distinct Tokyo, Japan vibe that makes the dining experience feel like a mini-vacation. It’s the perfect backdrop for a cozy dinner or a special family gathering.
The “Must-Try” Drink
If you visit, you cannot leave without trying the Brown Sugar Boba Tea.
It was so good that it turned my sister into an instant fan!
In fact, she loved it so much she has already gone back with her partner just to get it again. It’s rich, perfectly sweet, and the boba texture is spot on.
Exceptional Service (The “One-Woman Wonder”)
During our visit, there was only one server on shift, but you would never have known it by the quality of service.
Efficiency: Every dish was delivered exactly on time.
Energy: She was incredibly positive, full of energy, and checked on us every chance she got.
The Personal Touch: She even went above and beyond to take a group photo for us on my Polaroid camera so we could have a physical memory of our night. That kind of hospitality is rare!
The Verdict
Whether you are a ramen enthusiast who cooks it at home or a first-timer, Kinya Ramen is the real deal. Between the immersive atmosphere and the top-tier boba, it’s a 5-star experience all around.
First, we hit the 10-minute grace period on our reservation due to traffic and the shared parking lot with Buffalo Wild Wings (which is a mess on busy nights). Because of that, our reservation was pushed back. No problem—we understood. We gave our number, got a call when the table was “ready,” and still waited another 15 minutes because the table needed to be cleaned. Again, it was busy, so we stayed patient.
But once we were finally seated, we waited another 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. And when our server—let’s call her J—showed up, it only got worse.
J gave us zero introduction, no welcome, no suggestions, no attempt at upselling, nothing. Completely dry and uninterested. It genuinely felt like the only thing stopping us from ordering completely through a mobile POS was her physically standing there. The food actually came out faster than she brought the drinks. She avoided eye contact on purpose—even when I clearly tried to get her attention just to get water. It was honestly the worst service I’ve ever experienced while doing a review.
Because of that, we asked for a manager—and that’s when the night turned around.
Enter Devin.
Cue superhero music.
Devin single-handedly saved the entire visit. He apologized sincerely for everything we experienced and was professional, friendly, and attentive. If it wasn’t for him, I would never recommend this place to anyone—not even my worst enemy.
As for the food:
• The ramen is definitely their strongest dish.
• Everything else? Very heavy on sauces and a flavor profile very different from traditional Japanese spots. Not terrible, just not what you’d expect and not consistent.
Would I come back?
Honestly… only to see Devin.
He was the one bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience.
Once we sat down it was really cute and felt private alittle. My son and I were in a booth. The Bobba yogurt drinks are really delicious. Its popular. Alot was ordered for take out. The golden California Roll was to die for!! So delicious. We had a couple of things and I will say most was really good. I had the beef Ramen. Not a fan. The meat wasnt good and had a weird smell. And alot of extra unnecessary things in the Ramen bowl. Over all I must come back to try more things. The managers were helpful while getting alittle uneasy about the long wait. The host… not as friendly or informative. The server we had was nice but not knowledgeable of the menu. Its a new place we all cant not know what’s what lol
Till next time Kinya
