The best Japanese food I ever had. The most beautiful and artful arrangements I’ve ever encountered. The flavours are delicately balanced. I don’t say this lightly, I’ve been around. Take your time and enjoy every single bite. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable about the different choices. I appreciate the silverware chopsticks.

I recently had the opportunity to try out Kinoko restaurant, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The sushi itself was of excellent quality, leaving my taste buds satisfied and craving for more. However, what truly impressed me was the outstanding service provided by the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure that every customer was well taken care of. As a testament to their attentiveness, they even surprised us by bringing a soft sweet potato for our 9-month-old baby without us requesting anything. Such thoughtfulness and genuine care for their patrons truly set this establishment apart. Overall, I highly recommend this sushi restaurant for its delectable cuisine and exceptional service.

Shishito peppers were awesome! One of the best Sushi places I have been to. Every bite takes you to a different dimension. Unagi and spicy Tuna were simply amazing. Their sea urchin felt so fresh that I could taste the sea bed. Very friendly staff. Kinoko would be my goto sushi restaurant in Morrisville. They also serve real wasabi.

Sushi was on the brain. I came across Kinoko Japanese restaurant and decided to try it. The restaurant is small, intimate, and really nice inside. They also have a few seats outside as well. Jackie, the owner, was a delight; he offered advice on what to sample and paid close attention to all customers. The dinner was well presented and had fantastic flavors. I would recommend giving this place a try, it is worth it.

My husband and I love this place! Fresh ingredients and really friendly staff. We always get a Chapel Hill Roll each (so citrus-y and tasty!), and try a new roll every time. The harumaki (spring roll) and their rendition of a Moscow Mule are also delicious. They deserve more business!

OMG!!! I just left here. I had to post this review immediately. Being a thorough and obsessed fan of sushi. I have finally found the sushi place of my dreams in the RTP area. When I tell you that every single roll is amazing, I literally mean it. Let me tell you what I ordered
I ordered the Chapel Hill Roll, OMG! I think all of my responses will be OMG! But anyway, It was amazing!! The nice tang with the explosion of other flavors….was amazing. Add a dab of soy sauce and heaven has nothing on this roll. I swear their soy sauce is not regular.

So, I continued. I ordered the Cary Roll. Another one in the books! The flavor of the salmon with the tuna and mango. Fingers kiss lips.

So, I continued. I ordered the Apex Roll. All I’m going to do, virtually is throw my hands up.

So, I continued. I ordered the Raleigh Roll. This one has to be maybe my favorite, but I think they all are. When I ordered this one, I was afraid of the Wasabi tobiko caviar because I’m not a fan of Wasabi. The server encouraged me that it’s not strong. So, I trusted it. I believe that all things should be balanced. And guess what it was balanced. I have conquered a fear. I am not afraid of Wasabi!!!

So, I continued. I ordered the Morrisville Roll and another great one. Nice, clean, and flavorful!

So, I continued. I ordered the Salmon Pickle
That one was very good.

I continued. I ordered the Spicy Tuna. Delicious!! I usually always start with the Spicy Tuna Roll at any sushi place because it tells you a lot about the taste and quality of the sushi. They killed the Spicy Tuna Roll.

As appetizers, I ordered Pork Gyoza and Tuna Rataki. They both were great!

I had The Pink One cold sake. Loved it. I had 2.

Before I forget, allow me to tell you about the place. Lol. It’s a small place, very cozy. They have great customer service. I may end up becoming a regular here. That means I’ll be back!!

Super easy going location for sushi. Extremely polite and attentive staff. Very clean shop all around, and cutely decorated with Asian classics. Great for family meals. We got the sushi for 2. The fish was very good tasting. I don’t like the Fluke in particular. Sashimi was well portioned, and honestly it was a thick piece of fish. The rolls were nothing fancy, just simple and full of fish. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere overall.

We came here for a date night. The sign on the door said soft opening but it is open to the public and the owner greeted us. The place is nicely decorated but is small so not great for large parties. Probably 5-6 two person tables plus another 4-6 people could be seated at the bar. We opted for the sushi for two. The wait was a little long but nothing crazy considering they opened this week. The sushi for two had a nice mix and was a good sampler of popular orders.

My wife and I both agreed that the sushi was fantastic and tasted very fresh. We really liked all of the assortment except the caviar only roll (that could just be our tastes). We weren’t quite stuffed but very satisfied with the portion sizes. I don’t normally like eel but I liked theirs. The owner checked on us and chatted with us some. He seems like a super nice guy and I hope this restaurant makes it. If you want sushi that is as good (if not better) than some of the more established sushi restaurants in the area, try this place out.

One keyword to summarize my order is FRESHNESS. Many other Japanese restaurants add eel sauce or mayo sauce to cover up the taste of the fish or the (un)freshness but this restaurant doesn’t thankfully. It’s a bold move but it definitely worked only because the fish itself is really fresh and high quality. The presentation is superb. “Sushi for two” is really great for two as there are many different sushi and nigiris to taste. The fish roe on the Cary roll is fun if you like fish roe as they are huge and it pops into your mouth. The caviar and the red fish roe are also great as it adds different texture to every bite. My personal favorite is the nigiris. They are really well made. Right amount of vinegar to the rice. Of course the fish itself is really the star of the show.
