I’ve wanted to try this place for a long time but unfortunately I won’t be back because there are many better places close by.
First red flag was a long delay (30+ mins) during our pickup even though the restaurant wasn’t busy, they didn’t appear to start making our order till we arrived for pickup.
We ordered very standard items: pad thai, pad see ew, and khao soy. While the food portions were ok, it did not taste like typical Thai food.. for example the pad see ew noodles were very bland and didn’t have the normal sweet soy sauce flavor.
Overall was disappointed in the quality and lack of authenticity in their flavor, and my wife’s stomach hurt afterwards as well. We unfortunately don’t plan to order from here again as there are many other Thai options in the city.
1.) Don’t trust the raving reviews… they’re either outdated or fake
2.) We ordered online, and the food was ready in the 30 minutes quoted (The 1 star).
3.) I arrived at the location to pick-up my order, and when I entered the door a huge door bell ring went off (Assuming to notify them that a new customer has entered the building). To my surprise no one greeted me, and the restaurant was empty. After a few minutes of waiting and not hearing any movement, I decided to give a slightly louder then normal hello, to which I heard scurrying in the kitchen. After a few minutes a woman dressed in a hoodie and jeans came out and awkwardly looked at me as if she was waiting for me to state why I was there… I was about to explain that I was there for a pick-up order, before she chimed in and said To-go order/handed me a bag of food.
4.) My girlfriend and I, ordered the Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Shumai dumplings.
The pan fried dumplings were wrapped in foil, so they weren’t crispy anymore. They tasted like bland pre-made meatballs comprised of chicken, and the outer dumpling shell was very oily. The sauce that came with them was bland.
The Panang Curry was very watery like instead of coconut milk, they used plain water. Also there wasn’t that peanut butter taste. The chicken was plentiful, but it had zero flavor. Overall it felt like there was no care or effort put into the food, and we could have easily followed any recipe on the internet to create something better tasting.
The Pad Thai. It’s a staple Thai dish, but this just had zero flavor besides the noodles that tasted overly sweet. No sauce on noodles, the chicken again had zero flavor, very dry crumbled egg bits, and I had to throw a bunch of siracha on it to make it taste decent. Not to mention that my first bite was a piece of Tofu that didn’t belong in our dish….
Overall this place just felt like a money grab… We paid $43 including tip. Check the low rated reviews, and take a look at those photos!
They have $12 lunch specials which is a great deal. I had the Basil Fried Rice and Pad Kee Mao noodles – both were delicious and on point taste.
Ambiance is cozy, and exactly what you want for a casual dinner. We will definitely be returning.
