Everything about this place is enjoyable. We came for lunch and the atmosphere is relaxing and interesting. The service is top notch! Our server was so friendly, funny, and truly gave us a taste of the Southern Hospitality! The fried green tomatoes are excellent and the gumbo is the best I’ve had in a long time. The chicken wings were just like our server told us, 4 great big delicious wings! If you go to Beale street this is a must stop! The food was good, made fresh, and the beer was cold. We will definitely go again the next time we are in Memphis!

Visited Kings Palace Cafe on a sleepy cold afternoon. The place isn’t much to look at by any means but the food was absolutely delicious. Had the barbecue sampler platter and a cup of gumbo, which I put the gumbo in my top 5 of all time. Worth the visit while on Beale Street in Memphis.

My waitress was fantastic, until she told me I talk to fast, “ you must not be from around here “ nope I’m from St. Louis , “ yep I knew it, in Memphis we talk slower” I went back the day before I was about to leave to get some fried green tomatoes to take back home but they didn’t last the night. I went late to make sure I got to say bye to “baby doll” who we had some nice conversations. See you when I come back .

We came during a non peak time. Service was friendly but didn’t get our order right. Gumbo was legit, perfect heat level and flavor. Came back to ask if we wanted grilled or fried chicken on the Cajun salad. Said grilled. Came out fried anyway. And got the dressing wrong. Wasn’t bad, but no Cajun flare like the name suggests. Fried green tomatoes are worth it.

Stopped in for two things…Alligator Bites and Gumbo!! Both were delicious. Our server was very friendly and attentive, even brought us a little sample of the gumbo to make sure it wasn’t too spicy.

Highly over priced, it was cold and the waitress said it was too cold to order water. Ordered water and she was mad about it. Ordered ribs that weren’t cooked through. Tried to order sides, they were out of sides, but French fries.
Used the bathroom sink and they had a bucket under it to catch the waste water. Not leaking, no plumbing hooked up!!!
Wife ordered fried green tomatoes and came with cheese on it instead of sauce, we asked for sauce and they were out. I asked for another drink and she said no I have to finish what I have first so I did and the next one was all sour!!!
This was the worst dining experience we have ever had! Second isn’t even close!
Filthy and rude. I am so upset that we didn’t leave.
Lesson learned!

Dreka greeted us on the street we shopped a few min came back here to eat. To say it was DELICIOUS was an understatement. Kayla was our waitress she was great. There is such wonderful ambiance here. You can just sit there and imagine the worlds best blues players playing here. It’s decorated with great pics, posters and awards.
We had catfish crab cakes. BBQ pork sand, fried green tomatoes and La. Alligator bites. And talk about good portion size It’s over the top.
Dreka checked on us many times. What a great personality. Kayla was super attentive and very knowledgeable about the foods. The cook walked out and we all complimented him on his works of FANTASTIC food all cooked perfectly. Can’t say enough about this place. If you’re on Beale St in Memphis, Tn this is a must. You’ll be glad you did.
Thanks to all at Kings Palace Cafe for your kindness and great service and food. We appreciate you

This is mostly a review for the Best Bartender on Beale Street, Miss Carol! We came in on a weekday at lunch and the place was dead empty. It’s old Beale, nothing corporate and shiny here. Cozy and friendly. Carol was so warm and inviting and told us to come sit at the bar and she’d take care of us. She sure did! We ate the gumbo and bacon wrapped shrimp (my fav), and they were both SO good! Had a couple of delicious cocktails and talked to Miss Carol for like an hour! So sorry we didn’t make it back to Beale Street again, Carol, but we’ll never forget you!
