Sadly, the pad Thai was nothing like pad Thai. Overcooked, mushy noodles with watery and tasteless sauce.. not a single bean sprout or fresh scallion anywhere in the dish. Cabbage and carrots were overcooked… it was weird. No texture except mush, and I even asked for extra peanuts which were also somehow mushy. The only thing that gave it flavor were two limes shoved into it. The combo platter with spareribs & pork fried rice was not even mediocre… for $45, I feel my money was wasted. 🙁

Phantom Rice
I’m disappointed. In the past year, when we’ve tried ordering from K’sG they “forget” to include the rice package with the chef’s special dinner menu items. Not just for delivery, but pickup, too. Last time i ordered I put the order in for pick up, paid online ahead of time with a tip, drove downtown, asked if they had included everything this time, got handed a knotted plastic sack order. when I got back to my car I opened the plastic bag that they tied so tightly shut. No rice container.
I returned immediately to get the rice. And they ARGUED with me that they DID include the rice. I asked them to show me which paper container had rice. They couldn’t find it either, then they yelled at me that I had taken it out. Seriously?! No.
This time we tried delivery again. Still no rice. My friends, I realize that it was only $1.00 worth of missing steamed rice, at most. But, it is supposed to be included in the order with the chef’s specials… that I paid for each time, in earnest.
So, has anyone else in the greater Keene area experienced the phantom rice phenomenon with their King’s Garden food order?

The food was delicious! I came in late- a few minutes before they closed (sorry guys) and they still greeted me with a smile, whipped up some delicious food quick and had me on my way. High praise to the fine folks that serve and prepare that tasty food!

This family owned restaurant is great. The food is always great and the service is fast. The portions are plenty and the family is kind. My favorite is the shrimp with broccoli and the fried dumplings. Who am I kidding. Everything at Kings Garden is my favorite. Jackie worked for the original owners for years before buying the business with his beautiful wife Judy. Support local!

This was so bad. Ordered delivery, hour goes by, nothing. Ended up having to go get it. Food was burnt, hard, and gross. Funniest looking beef fried rice I ordered…. seriously there was nothing good about this. And they still charged for delivery.
