My recent visit to King’s Fish House in Anaheim had both highlights and frustrations. The experience started off slowly—our server seemed much more attentive to the table next to us, leaving us waiting long enough to notice. We were actually greeted first by a manager rather than our server, which contributed to the feeling that things were a bit disorganized at the start. Fortunately, the service improved significantly as the meal went on, and by the end of the evening our server was friendly, attentive, and enjoyable to interact with.
The food itself, however, didn’t quite live up to the price point. I ordered the lobster roll, which looked great but ended up lacking flavor. The mac and cheese tasted distinctly like Velveeta, giving it a processed quality rather than the rich, gourmet style I expected. On the bright side, the oysters were fresh and delicious, and the drinks were well‑crafted—both definite strong points of the meal.
The most disappointing item was the spicy seafood chowder. It wasn’t labeled as Manhattan‑style, yet arrived with a tomato base, and instead of the variety of seafood the name suggests, it mostly contained unidentifiable fish. It also wasn’t spicy at all and simply wasn’t enjoyable. To their credit, the staff removed it from our bill without hesitation.
The atmosphere, however, was genuinely lovely. The restaurant is beautifully designed—warm, inviting, and visually impressive—which made the evening feel more enjoyable despite the food inconsistencies.
If we choose to return, I’d likely explore more of the cold seafood bar, since the oysters were the standout of the night. Overall, King’s Fish House has potential, but for the price, I expected more consistency and stronger flavors.

We were not satisfied and I will leave it at that. I would like to add the comment that the manager was very very very kind and spent a lot of time speaking to us and we appreciated each other and valued each other‘s time and experience which made it a decent ending and I must say that they have Sister and parent company that are quite amazing and literally three days later we were at Lou and Mickey’s in the gaslamp district in San Diego and had hands-down the absolute best meal I’ve ever had in my entire life.

Absolutely stellar experience from start to finish. We kicked things off with the yellowtail sashimi–a showstopper. Each slice was buttery and fresh, swimming in a perfectly balanced soy-based sauce that had just the right amount of sweetness and umami. Topped with jalapeño slices, microgreens, and a pop of roe, it was beautifully plated and even better to eat. A dab of creamy sauce on the side added an extra layer of richness.

Next came the Rappahannock oysters–plump, briny, and icy cold, served with a classic lineup of mignonette, cocktail sauce, horseradish, and what seemed like a habanero relish that added a subtle kick without overwhelming the natural flavor of the oysters. Bonus points for the presentation–clean, elegant, and generous with the ice and garnishes.

Every bite hit the mark, and paired with a crisp beer, it was pure bliss. This spot knows how to showcase quality ingredients with minimal fuss and maximum flavor. Highly recommend for any raw bar or sashimi lover.

Maybe it was just today but we were very deceived. We were 2 people and ordered 2 clam chowder bowls, 1 crisp calamari, 1 bbq Cajun shrimp appetizer. All these things need to be eaten warm so it would have been obvious to receive first the clam chowder and then the appetizer, not everything at the same time. I had to rush eating the chowder so that the appetizer would not get cold. The shrimps were swimming in what should be a sauce not a liquid, they were ok. The crisp calamari were served with 2 sauces, we asked for some lemon and we had to watch the server at the tablet putting in information and brought us the lemon at least 5 minutes after we asked and brought it only when she was called to bring someone else’s plate instead of bringing the lemon right away.

Great ambience and great seafood house for hanging out with full bar drinks. This location is big and is capable to hold big party.

I had:
1. Dozen of oysters
2. Filet and lobster tail
3. Chilean seabass with asparagus and brussel sprouts

The food was alright. The salad could have used more dressing and the chowder.. is pretty good.. if you like Manhattan clam chowder… I’d recommend the bass tacos.

Always a go-to every year when we come to Anaheim for a annual tradeshow. Judging from the amount of tradeshow folks we see there with the same idea, it seems it’s a staple in the community. I’ve never had bad service, the food is consistently good (the halibut is delicious ) and the price is reasonable. Couple that with an excellent wine list of some great local California wines, and it’s a good night out! Can’t wait to come back next year!!

I am in town on a business trip, I wanted to see if there are any decent seafood places in the area. King’s Fish House came up with a high review, I also checked out their online menu and it looked great.

Very good choice for the evening. They were absolutely packed on a Friday night, but they had room at the bar, which was just fine with me.

The bartender Daniel was very attentive, and gave me awesome customer service. I had a cocktail and dinner, and I was surprised how fast the food came being that they were very busy. The fish and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The cocktail was top-notch.
I am a mixologist, so I tend to be pretty discerning and judgmental when it comes to restaurant cocktails, let me say most of them are amateur level. I was impressed with what I ordered at King’s Fish House! I would go back.
