Great find in Tucson, fresh, well prepared seafood. Many restaurants overcook fish, here it is served right.

Great wine list and N/A drink selection. Deserts are amazing.

Price is sturdy, might be appropriate for the freshness delivered.

The people are attentive and the water glass is always full.

Art on the walls deliver a warm feeling.

Kingfisher delivered an exceptional Christmas Eve dining experience and reminded me why it is one of my favorite seafood restaurants in Tucson.

I started with a cup of the New England clam chowder, which was creamy, smooth, and filled with well prepared clams. I also ordered the calamari, which was presented a bit unconventionally but was absolutely delicious. It was served over a spicy chili sauce and topped with fried jalapeño rings and Sweety Drop peppers. Easily my new favorite calamari in town.

For my entrée, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass from the Christmas Eve special menu. The fish was cooked perfectly and incredibly buttery, topped with rich lobster, and served over herb rice and roasted cauliflower. Both sides were flavorful and complemented the seabass beautifully. I also added a side of the smoked tomato soft polenta, which was savory and a fantastic addition to the meal.

For dessert, I tried the 1989 Bakehouse cranberry tiramisu from the holiday menu. The tartness of the cranberries paired wonderfully with the tiramisu base and made for a lovely finish without being overly sweet.

Service was outstanding despite the restaurant being packed for Christmas Eve. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, and the entire staff was in great spirits. The vibe here is always fantastic. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Once again, our service was fabulous starting with the manager that greeted us and showed us to our perfect booth. My husband got the steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus, which I ate most of his asparagus because he doesn’t particularly like it and I thought it was delicious. I also had their winter soup with toasted pine nuts and pomegranate, and it was fabulous.
I WOULD RECOMMEND

Update: Jan 2026

My husband & I decided on lunch at Kingfisher. He hadn’t been there for many years and I had visited once recently. They close the dining room at 2 pm normally, and we arrived right before 2 Pm and they let us sit in the dining room. There were a few other tables still occupied. I don’t know the server’s name, but he was great. Friendly, personable and checked on us appropriately.I had the Fish & chips, fish excellent, fries amazing but the cole slaw lacked a little. It needed more dressing as it was a bit dry. My husband ordered the hamburger. It came with cheese, roasted red peppers, poblano pepper, sautéed onions, lettuce & tomato, all included in the price of $21. A half pound of absolutely delicious meat, cooked to his specification. According to my hubby, the best burger in town. He took over half home to eat at dinner. He had the yummy fries and the lackluster cole slaw as well. Soft drinks were $5 and our entrees were $21. Total w/tax was $56 which was reasonable given the taste and our experience. I was so glad to see that they didn’t charge extra for a credit card, as it should be. We were visited by a manager which was nice. We will definitely return.

Original review late 2025:

I joined a friend here. We were hoping for lobster rolls, but they didn’t have them. We decided on the fish & chips. The fish was hoki and it was outstanding. Fries are fresh cut, slaw was delicious. Our server also worked the bar so I don’t have a name. He was terrific, constantly checking on our drinks and food. Very nice clean dining room and restrooms. I haven’t been here for at least 25 years.. It is still the same great place, delicious food and stellar service. We decided on the chocolate mousse cake and gelato. Both were yummy as well. I forgot photos except for the cake. Keep up the good work.

Attended a Tucson Foodie dinner event ..food was fantastic. Lots of flavorful creativity with an emphasis on local ingredients. The Salty Coyote was a nice alcohol free alternative beverage.

The bar area is a great spot to enjoy dinner as well.

Just had a fantastic meal and experience at Kingfisher. We called last minute for a reservation. They were pretty booked but got us in, and seated us right away when we arrived. The service was excellent. They were very busy, but the manager Eric was amazing in pitching in, kept coming around to ask if we needed anything. The food was fantastic. Their house salad was one of the best I’ve ever had. The cornbread was excellent. The entre was fantastic. I got the octopus which was very tasty and the sides were equally excellent. A truly fantastic meal and experience

What a great place for dinner. My Wife had the lobster roll and I am not the big seafood person so I had the Bacon Burger. She said it was fantastic and fresh. My burger was good too. The side of sweet potato chips were so good.
Yes, it’s a little pricy, and good food always does.

Everything was amazing! We started with a caesar and a wedge salad which were both delicious. Then we had the steak, the lamb, the paella and the lobster roll. I would recommend any and all of these! The cheesecake was delectable and even the drinks were great/well poured (lemon drop and old fashioned). I can’t wait to come back and try everything else!

The food was incredible. I’ve been wanting to come here for years and it was worth it despite the prices. The seafood is cooked so well and the drinks, alcoholic or non, are house made and fantastic. The food is just amazing.
