I had the most amazing dinner! Highly recommend the Ricotta Cavatelli – it was even better than what I thought possible. Thank you to our very friendly server for the recommendation. Definitely leave room for dessert.

I ordered food up to the room on 11/8. Food was mediocre. Everything lacked seasoning for breakfast. The lox bagel we got would have been 100 times better with cream cheese and not whatever sauce they put on there. Sausages needed more flavor, the first time I havent really enjoyed saisages. Croissants were ok, but the ham and cheese one was really bad we could not even eat it. Overall food was a 5/10. I think the prices do not match what you get. I suggest the team revists how they make their dishes to improve or hire a new chef. You dont expect to stay at such a nice hotel and be fed that in the morning. I would even go as far as to say I would starve until checkout time.

Disappointed with our experience at Kingbird. While my steak was perfectly cooked, the rest of the table didn’t fare as well—our pasta dishes were chewy and undercooked, and my wife had to send back her fish due to an off-putting smell. For the price point, we expected much higher quality and consistency across the menu. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t live up to the fine dining standards it aims to project. Would not recommend.

Omakase experience at the bar is a must for a unique date night! Chef prepares everything in front of you and explains each dish and how to eat it. Every item was layers of wonderful flavors. Staff were attentive and helpful. Atmosphere is chic and romantic being set in the famous watergate hotel. Limited time event so get a reservation before the chef moves on.

We had dinner and breakfast at Kingbird, and overall had a very nice experience. At dinner we were served by Henry, who had a tremendous sense of humor but was also very knowledgeable and helpful. He steered us through the wine selection and we ended up with a very nice bottle. I had the filet, which while pricey was delicious and properly prepared. The salmon was also delicious and cooked to perfection.

Breakfast was a disappointment, however. They only do a buffet on the weekend, and while the food was tasty, the selections were no better than a chain hotel breakfast and did not match the $45pp price. There are no other nearby options on the weekend so we went with the flow.

Overall, we found Kingbird to be a good place for dinner, but I would suggest looking for other options for weekend breakfast.

I had an exceptional experience at this restaurant from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of comfort and style. My server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, making great recommendations without being pushy. Thank you again Brayan Benitez!

The food was the real standout—beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Every dish tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The portions were generous without sacrificing quality, and the pricing felt fair for the level of service and craftsmanship.

I also appreciated the small details: quick service, clean surroundings, and a feeling that the team genuinely cares about guests enjoying their time.

Overall, this restaurant exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food, great service, and a memorable dining experience. I’ll definitely be returning!

Our server Shayne made our Birthday Celebration Brunch extra special! She was bright and cheerful as she made meal suggestions. She was excited when she delivered delicious meals and drinks helping maintain our joy and appreciation. She even took photos of our group to save the memories in the chic restaurant atmosphere. She was the BEST! Thank you Shayne! Be sure to ask for her on your next visit!

The styling and atmosphere were incredible, however the food was bland and overpriced. I had eaten there twice during my stay at the Watergate. The presentation of the meal was spectacular and so was the service. The wagyu burger and fries were excellent and cooked perfectly. The second trip, I ordered the stuffed chicken. I could not taste anything, as if it had no seasoning or anything. For $35, I was expecting something better. Also, the sides were bland and overpriced. $35 for 3 mediocre sides was not pleasant. The mashed potatoes were nothing special, the mac and cheese had no taste, but the asparagus was delightful.

Extremely poor experience overall. We had the steak and eggs and lobster Benedict because we wanted to splurge on brunch. Both were horrible. Steak was not a premium cut, wasn’t cooked well at all and under-seasoned. The lobster wasn’t fresh and tasted like it was from a can.

Service was terrible. We waited at the hostess station for a while before anyone acknowledged us. Food service was also slow and our coffee and waters were often empty.

But, the most egregious part is the prices. I felt robbed after the bill came. So expensive for bad ingredients put together poorly and served slowly and inattentively. Plus they added an 18% service charge, then expected gratuity on top of that.

I wish we had literally anywhere else for brunch.

Pre theater birthday dinner. The place is right next to the Kennedy Center. So it makes it very convenient. I guess they know that because they charge you quite a bit. The food was good though small portions. The crab cake was the best my wife had ever eaten. The drinks were distinct. Service is really good. Waiters are very attentive. I think I will go back to this place only if I’m at the Kennedy Center for an event.
