King Restaurant and Bar in Honolulu is a must‑visit for anyone craving authentic Cantonese flavors. We started with their soup, which was light, comforting, and full of depth — the perfect way to begin the meal. The tender beef was outstanding, cooked to perfection with that signature Cantonese balance of savory and sweet. The clams were fresh and flavorful, prepared in a delicate sauce that brought out their natural sweetness. The fried rice was another highlight — fragrant, well‑seasoned, and masterfully made with that wonderful wok aroma. Friendly service, generous portions, and traditional flavors make this place a true gem in Honolulu. Five stars all the way!

We decided to try the lunch special here and we were happy with what we got. For two people we had ordered more food than we could both eat but everything came out great. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. The only downside was the fact that they ran out of noodles for the beef brisket we ordered but the look fun was still just as good. Although we didn’t have any wine they also stock a pretty big inventory of it at reasonable prices so if you’re looking to share a bottle or have one for yourself you can do it without breaking the bank. Overall I would come back here for lunch.

Typically, Chinese restaurants are not known for their friendly service, but at King Restaurant and Bar, the staff members here are very nice and friendly, even on the phone! They check on you and are patient in explaining the dishes and waiting for you to decide ☺️
The food is delicious!!! Go with a large group so you can try lots of different dishes!

In my opinion Kings is the best for cantonese cuisine now in Honolulu. Their dishes are flavorful, well presented and good sized portions. The atmosphere can be crowded and noisy if its busy so go early and get out before the rush. Some favorites are honey walnut shrimp, salt pepper pork chop and the fresh steamed oysters are always a hit.

Great authentic Cantonese cuisine without loads of MSG. Good value, fast and friendly service. We ordered salt and pepper chicken wings, kau-yuk with preserved vegetables, clay pot eggplant with anchovies and chicken, sweet and sour pork, garlic pea shoots and scallop egg white fried rice. Every dish was fresh and well seasoned. They served a free coconut tapioca black rice dessert. The only minor imperfection is the noise level due to the bare floor and walls.

Decent Chinese food in the area. Portion just a tad bit on the smaller side compared to other places, but still a good place to share with a big group of family. I usually like to get their egg white scallop fried rice, pumpkin soup, lobster e-mein, and ong choy in tofu curd.

Amazing food served here! Price is definitely fair and portion is relatively good size too. Ordered bbq roasted pork, the best sweet and sour pork, seafood soup and steamed fish fillet. Everything was prepared so well and all of us enjoyed the meal tremendously. Parking was a little challenging but luckily we could park on roadside after 730pm. I strongly recommended this place!

Over all a good experience. Definitely would recommend. Coming from a picky eater because I grew up eating great food and am a cook myself. Food was over all good except for the vegetables dish (Ong Chai) was a bit hard. I think the noodles could have used a little bit more soy, was a bit toward bland side, I got some sharp tongue kids too, they thought it was a bit bland too. Service could have been better. Maybe because we try skipping the dinner crowd and it was also the worker’s dinner time. I think they realized they were a bit lacking in that aspect and try making up for it afterwards. I appreciated that. I would recommend this place for anyone interested in good chinese food. Over all a good experience!

The parking for the restaurant is decent since parking is in the back of the restaurant. The dining area is a decent size and the decor is fine. The service was pretty good. The food was very good. Need to verify over the phone if duck or any other barbecue owns are available.

Chinese restaurant along Kapiolani Avenue.
The food is good but a little highly priced, we ordered the roasted pigeon and fried rice along with a bitter melon and beef stir fry. The garlic steamed oysters were delicious as well.
I think due to the language barrier there was miscommunication and we weren’t served one of our steamed fish dishes. All in all a good restaurant but be prepared to pay a high price tag on some of the foods.
