Easy parking in their own lot
Great shabu shabu, Japanese bbq, and other specials! – the broth choices are delicious and the meats and veggies are high quality! My favorite broth is the sukiyaki which is a little sweeter and the Tonkatsu which was creamy. The Sea kelp is great for those who need a lighter broth.
We got Set A and B for the beef and seafood options. The combo comes with protein, a bowl of veggies, noodles or rice, a listed appetizer and a drink. All was so satisfying. We also tried some Wagyu and it melts in your mouth!
We also loved their sake menu which had so many options to start learning about it. The grilled Saba mackerel fish was also AMAZING and my favorite bite.
Service – amazing, they checked in often and brought our food quickly, out servers and management were also so kind and helpful!
Tip: check out their special events, lunch and happy hour deals!
Thanks to Wing, Brian and Paloma who were so wonderful and added to the great experience!
Warm broth, delicious grilled dishes, and smooth sake made the whole experience feel extra cozy on a cold day. Highly recommend trying the new menu—you won’t be disappointed!
We pre-ordered the uni spoons, and they were absolutely worth it — super fresh and such a treat. I love that they offer custom options if you plan ahead. It really makes the meal feel special instead of just a regular dinner.
The owner personally came by to check on us, which made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. We were even surprised with some special drinks and small bites from the house, which was such a thoughtful touch.
Great food, great service, and that extra level of care you don’t find everywhere. We’ll definitely be back for our next family celebration.
The appetizers and sake pairings were spot on and really elevated the meal. The space is clean, the staff are super friendly, and there’s plenty of parking since it’s in a plaza. I’ll definitely be back for that wagyu!!! It was so tender it melted in my mouth!!
But on my most recent visit, the owner wasn’t there, and the service felt noticeably different. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t the standard I’ve come to expect from this place. Since I genuinely love this restaurant, I felt it was finally time to leave a review—not to complain, but to gently remind the management of something important.
The restaurant promotes a full-service dining experience during weekday dinners and weekend lunch hours, which is one of the main reasons I adore this place. However, during peak hours, the servers often look extremely busy—walking back and forth constantly—yet somehow not getting much done. They seem inexperienced and unaware that one efficient trip around the dining area could resolve multiple guest needs, instead of pacing the same route repeatedly without accomplishing much.
Surprisingly, this isn’t only during busy times. Even in slower hours, the staff seem overwhelmed or unsure of what to prioritize. And weekend dinner service… well, let’s just say it leaves much room for improvement.
All of this is especially noticeable because the food here is absolutely top-tier. Everything is fresh and delicious. The A5 wagyu is both high-quality and reasonably priced. The broth portions are generous and full-bodied—not watered down like many other shabu spots with tiny pots and bland soup. In my opinion, this is truly the No.1 shabu restaurant in all of South Bay.
The new BBQ items on the menu are spectacular, and many of their sake selections can’t even be found in other Japanese restaurants or liquor shops. The restroom is always clean and well-kept, which to me reflects the standards of the kitchen as well. In nearly every way, this restaurant is close to perfect.
Except for the service.
Other busy restaurants operate with the same number of servers, yet their teams appear more coordinated, efficient, and energetic. Here, the effort is there—but the execution needs guidance.
I’m writing this because I care about this place. King Plus Shabu is almost like my second dining home, and I want to see it continue to shine. But if the service quality remains the same during my future visits, I may have to reconsider my rating.
I truly hope management takes this feedback to heart. The food here deserves service that matches its excellence.
