My family and I stopped by after church, and even though they were closing within the hour, you would’ve never guessed it. The food came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor—no shortcuts taken!
Mrs. Yolanda welcomed us like family from the moment we walked in. Her energy let us know right away we were in good hands.
This is the kind of soul food that hugs you from the inside. We’ll definitely be back for seconds (and thirds)!

5/5 Loved everything on my plate and my friend’s plate. The baked chicken and catfish was delicious. The catfish was the best. The dressing and Mac and cheese was on point. This place did not disappoint. I highly recommend the southern punch, catfish and Mac and cheese a must try at this restaurant.

This the Black Queen with the face tattoo who came here because of TikTok! One of the absolute best experiences I’ve had coming to a Soul Food Place. The Owner is an amazing host who makes everyone feel like family. I’ve never ever felt such a warm inviting environment! The food was very delicious! If you’re wanting a normal, family like place to be often, THIS IS THE SPOT!!!!! I will be giving them all my money happily!!!!!! We went to King of Soul late on a Sunday evening. We arrived within the hour of them closing. The staff was warm and welcoming. This was our first time in the restaurant. The food was totally awesome. I would recommend you to stop by you won’t be disappointed.

My kids and I had such a pleasurable experience. We were greeted and sat immediately upon entry. Desiree was our server, and she made sure we had an amazing experience. I ordered the meatloaf, and it hit the spot! It comes with gravy as opposed to a red sauce, but delicious nonetheless. I ordered greens and dressing, and the dressing was just right! I ordered a peach cobbler and a jar of spicy garlic pickles to go. My son, age 14, said he’d return. He had the lemon pepper wing basket. My girls shared the wing entree, and the yams they ordered were great. My greens were cool, but I’m very biased when it comes to greens so what’s cool to me might be spectacular to others. I’d definitely return especially to try out the bar.

My husband surprise me and brought dinner home. He knows how much I love soul food. I had chicken, macaroni dressing and yams. The chicken had good flavor, but it had so many feathers on it I couldn’t even eat it. The macaroni was not good at all. It tastes gritty it was oily, the yams was not good at all. The dressing was so dry. I also had peach cobbler. They should’ve added some cornstarch so it would’ve been thick. It was so runny. It was like you could drink it. Yeah it was not something that I would eat again.

The service was mediocre. Ive never been here before. Didn’t know if I should seat myself or wait for a table as there was no1 to greet me. The staff was friendly the service was still lacking. I would recommend to go orders the food was good.

We went in & instantly was greeted with smiles. They friendly staff, intimate atmosphere, great music and generous portions. Tasha was our server. The food was amazing & the greens were real (not canned). Drinks were nice & stiff!!! This is most definitely a great find in Ferguson, Mo!!!!

I believe in supporting black owned businesses and tried this place. I ordered the meatloaf dinner. The greens and macaroni were great. The meatloaf was thick and dense, but they give a big portion. It made 2 meals for me. I arrived with my 70+ yr old mother & we were told to stand near a table with a drink and credit card swiper on it too wait for my niece because we couldn’t be seated unless the whole party was there. We almost left after standing 4-5 minutes, then the server who told us to stand decided to seat us. I could see making us wait if we were missing 3-4+ people, but just 1? It’s a small location, but there were enough empty tables that seating us when we arrived wouldn’t have impacted any other customers coming. I would still return and eat here again with a small group. My vegetarian niece had the fried green tomatoes & yams. My mother had the pork chop dinner with cabbage and yams. There are several more things I want to try.

The dishes Mom Dukes & I had were delicious. The sweet potato pie was Bang’n. I’m disappointed in the size of the pie for the price! Excellent customer service as well. It appears to be a staple in the Ferguson/ St. Louis area. Some Midwest Soulfood!
