We had dinner with our two kids in the restaurant. We were expecting something anlittle bit different. After having had we found the food in the restaurant to be not as close to original chinese food as we expected. The taste was good and the service was fast so that is the reason for the rating. If you are looking for something more similar to the food that you would get in china I woould probably try somewhere else.

Excellent meal. With 8 of us we went for the set menu (there are a number to choose from). The food was lovely and the staff friendly and attentive. Definitely visit again.

Popped in here with the family on a Saturday night while visiting Newcastle for the football. We were seated at a lovely table upstairs and the food was lovely! Nice atmosphere, great service and good location in the city centre. Next time we’re in the room we will be heading back!

Overrated and very expensive for the quality of the food and for the portion sizes. Don’t waste your money on the set meals. Bill came to ~£200 for 4 people. I thought this would be a more authentic Chinese restaurant but it’s just like any other takeaway. They also tried to charge us extra drinks which we had not ordered. They removed these from the bill once we pointed them out. Can definitely cook the same food at home for 1/10 of the price.

We called in for a table for 2, it was a last minute decision so hadn’t booked a table. We had been a number of times previously and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. When we arrived they took us to a table upstairs. The resultant upstairs was empty and freezing cold. We did think of leaving but remembered that the food was good, and thought the heating would be put on. Unfortunately it wasn’t. We ate our 3 course meal in our coat, didn’t stay for pud, as by that time we were frozen solid. Food was good but I certainly wouldn’t accept a table upstairs again

Whilst on a short city break, based on reviews, we had a walk in and we’re not disappointed. Very warm welcome by staff. Extensive menu options, the food was top notch, plentiful and very tasty and excellent service. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately this is not a place that i would say is award winning like described or 4.6. I had to ring up to check a booking i submitted online. We ordered drinks and the staff were friendly and able to describe food sauces etc. The food was extremely quick out in a couple of minutes after order which i was extremely supprised. The food was luke warm. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. We paid the bill and left having had a good catch up with friends. Unfortunately on of the friends woke up with severe upset stomach during the night and has been ill since. Not a great ending to 2 nights away. Checked the food rating and suprised to only find 3 stars. Would i recommend – no had far better food from a take away

Excellent choice for Seafood and Chinese. Went for Wife’s birthday and from the moment we entered the staff were friendly, let you take your time to order and the food was perfect. This was my first time here but it won’t be the last. The staff are a credit to the business.

The crispy spring rolls starter surprised me as they were mini spring rolls. The menu did not suggest that.
The sweet and sour sauce was brought out very early before the spring rolls. When the rolls were brought out I did suggest that there might be a skin on the sauce as it had stood for a while. It hadn’t but it was cold by the time I finished the rolls.
The main course (king prawns with green peppers and black bean sauce along with egg fried rice) was fine but the prawns had a fork and spoon in them. The handles would have been sticky and would have made my hands the same.
I did point out both issues at the restaurant.
The apple juice was a very acceptable alternative to the tomato juice which I asked about but which they didn’t have.
I did notice that people on two nearby tables had to ask for drinks they had ordered some time earlier.
A nice touch, late on, was that a server said she’d bring me a hot towel for my hands. She did and it saved me a trek to the toilets to wash my sticky hands.
