Wow, we were taken by surprise by the exceptionally high-quality cooking offered at the King Bar & Bistro. We split the house special, “Red Fish Pontchartrain,” and it was so intensely flavorful and artfully presented we could immediately tell the chef learned his trade in New Orleans. We splurged on another house special for dessert, the “White Chocolate Bread Pudding,” and were again amazed by the quality of the dish, a perfect balance of pillowy caramel and subtle sweetness. Five stars for the food; hard to find in Baton Rouge. Please forgive the eager waitstaff for they are still learning the ropes, and the bar could stand to improve the wine list. We will be back. You should try it too.

Enjoyed breakfast twice during my work stay at Hotel Indigo. Food was reasonably priced and tasted great!! The window tables with clean white table cloths were perfect for doing a bit of work on my laptop while also eating. The natural light was wonderful. Service was great, the chef and hostess both checked on me to make sure!

Young lady bartender and server was perfect! Very friendly and one of the best young servers I’ve encountered. The food and drinks deserve a one star rating. Dirty martini not worth the $16.00 price, and the manager that made it was not a very nice person. The food, was bland and absolutely the worst Escargot and Salmon I’ve ever ordered. No seasoning and presentation very sloppy! I recommend the bartender, but not the food!

This is my the first time to be here, Barton Rouge, Louisiana. Then you shall ask me, “have you experienced with any local Louisiana cuisine”?. I shall present very strong Yes, because of here.
In the middle of Barton Rouge has huge Mississippi River. So it is famouse with all the fish- based dishes. But, there is another root, “French style”. The [King Bar & Bistro] is exactly the place.
Located at the basement floor of the “Indigo Hotel”, it gave us very pleasent, cool, fresh air. All the staff were gentile and being friendly. And the Chef… He knew what we precisely starved for, even we didn’t know.
Steak, Ratattoi, Pasta, each of plate was epic, gorgeous, even became sexy.
We were kind of bored with all fried fish, shrips, and potato chips. And the steak was like an angel of the pallet.
We were fully loved and enjoyed all flaboured harmony.
It is became 3 months to be renovated, and they served the most beautiful cheescake.
And with the Lemon-cocktail.
The perfect combination.
You don’t need to worry or think too much. Just ask it to the Chef.

I had a late check-in at the hotel, and the front desk told that the restaurant had food until 10 PM. But when I showed up at the restaurant at 9 o’clock, they acted surprised and weren’t sure if they could make me anything. The bartender did not want to interrupt the chef i guess, he was sitting out in the front bar area and chatting it up with the customers. So I guess he didnt feel like cooking.

Had the best time with Brittany our host at the bar. She makes the best Old Fashion….her specialty. Had mine with Bulliet and my wife with Basil Haydon. Both spectacular! Brittany made our cocktail sojourn the most fun!
