I really enjoyed everything about this restaurant! The food was amazing and had great flavor. The service was even great on Valentines Day! They did offer a specific Valentines Day menu but we choose to pick menu items, salmon, crab cakes, etc. and absolutely nothing disappointed! Not sure if the crowd was only related to the holiday but reservations are available. They offer seating indoors and outdoors with a great view of the water and walking path at the Wharf. Parking can be difficult so arrive early for time to search in the paid parking garages.

This was my first time dining at Kinfolk, and I’m truly amazed by the experience. From the moment I walked in, everything from the food to the service exceeded my expectations.
I ordered the fried catfish and the watermelon salad, and both were absolutely delicious. The catfish was perfectly seasoned and crispy, while the watermelon salad was refreshing and full of flavor. I also tried the cornbread appetizer, which was warm, comforting, and a great start to the meal.
Our server, Carlyle, was kind, attentive, and professional with a great personality and presence (and yes, he’s tall!). He made sure we were well taken care of.
The bar area was lively, playing the game, which added a fun and casual vibe to the evening without being too loud or distracting.
Overall, it was a great night out, and I will definitely be back. I highly recommend Kinfolk to anyone looking for flavorful Southern cuisine, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Extremely nice decor, we went for Thanksgiving ( they had a Thanksgiving themed option) it was actually pretty good ( minus the candied yams). My mashed potatoes needed to be warmed up. Service was decent given it was Thanksgiving and they were busy.

Enjoyed best drinks…try Passionfruit Paradise Margarita, Old Tariff (smoked old fashioned), Kingfolk Express and why not enjoy an appetizer…crab dip! My picky 17 year old loves it. Great tasting fries and I believe he drank 4 glasses of sweet tea. He had the chicken fingers basket and loves it. For around $15.00 you get plenty of food for a kid or a teen. I had the deviled eggs for an appetizer and then steak Frites as a main coarse, it’s a Ribeye sliced with seasoned fries it was around $45.00. It was delicious and tender. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, I only regret we didn’t have time to try some BBQ. It is the only place on the Wharf to get BBQ. Please try this place out, you won’t regret it.

When we were visiting DC, we decided to stop at The wharf. As we were walking the boardwalk and deciding what to eat before leaving, I’m glad I didn’t get talked out of coming to Kinfolk. Instead of getting meals, we decided to get a couple apps. Burnt ends and brussel sprouts were absolutely to die for. Pork Rinds were also awesome. The next time I come back, I’m definitely stopping here again..

For a southern restaurant, I was underwhelmed by the culinary experience. The dishes lacked flavor and taste. Although the chicken and waffle were satisfactory, the chicken required additional seasoning and the waffles were merely adequate. The BBQ brisket burger fell short of expectations, as the brisket was not tender or soft. Furthermore, the grits did not meet my expectations, as they were not traditional southern-style grits but rather resembled rice. The drinks were good. I was disappointed, as I had been looking forward to authentic southern cuisine. The service the lady provided was satisfactory.
