Great thin crust pizza! I haven’t been here in quite a few years, and nothing has changed. Always busy and they have amazing food. There was about a 10 min wait, but we sat at the bar & ordered a large pie with garlic & black olives… mouthwatering! While waiting for our food, I enjoyed a Kinchleys Red and watched sports on their tvs. There was only one friendly waitress behind the bar and she was really hustling, but we were patient. Took home the leftovers and it definitely won’t be years later until the next time I’m back!

We tried this place for the first time a few months ago, and it has been a favorite since. We visit every time we’re in the area now. The ricotta and pesto meatballs are delicious. Their pizza, specifically with their fra diavolo sauce, is the best!! It’s always super busy so make a reservation and it’s only cash (but worth it).

Kinchley’s is a Bergen County staple, especially known for its ultra-thin crust pizza. This time, I skipped the pie and tried a couple of diner-style classics.

Eggplant Parmigiana – Generous portion, but the texture leaned soft and the sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste. Not bad, just not their strongest dish.

Burger with Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato – Solid and satisfying. The bacon was crisp, the patty juicy, and the bun held up well. Fries were classic tavern-style–crispy and plentiful.

Service & Vibe: Friendly staff and a cozy, old-school tavern feel. It’s a popular spot, so expect a crowd during peak hours. The horse on the roof is still iconic.

Final Take: Kinchley’s shines brightest with its pizza. If you’re venturing beyond the pie, expect decent comfort food–but next time, I’ll stick with their signature thin crust. And don’t forget: cash only.

We can’t wait to come back next time! The thin crust pizza was so good! We got half cheese and half bacon and sausage. We also got a Caesar salad. I’d definitely come back and order the same.

Our waitress was so nice to recommend we go with 1 large pie and split half/half vs getting 2 smalls.

We came around 12 PM on a Saturday and within 10-15 mins, the place filled up!

Great thin crust pizza. Atmosphere is great as well – I feel like I went back in time. But space is a bit tight (if you bring toddlers, something to note).

The BEST Thin-Crust Pizza I have ever had!

The restaurant is very busy throughout the day, and the service is fast.

I highly recommend trying their pizza. You will be impressed.

We have been here a few times now and we enjoy it more and more every time. NJ bar pies (thin cracker crispy crust) Favorites are the homemade meatball pie and the diavolo but all are great! Nice tap selection too. Worth the trip if you are not a local! Great story and history about Kinchley’s too. Always busy so try to make a reservation but tables turn fairly quick if you are willing to wait a few. We will be back soon!

This place is a trip. Cash only but there’s an ATM. The food is awesome, we ordered Caesar salad, calamari, coconut shrimp and a cheese pie with fra diavolo sauce. The bar pies are fantastic with super crispy crust and incredible sauce

One of the best bar pies in Bergen. Thin yet crisp, nice chew and perfect crackery edge. But don’t ignore the other options in the menu, it’s extensive with pasta and sandwiches. The iconic red checkered tables carry over to the paper and well worth coming. Still after all these years, only cash but Chase bank is down the street and ATM in the restaurant. Don’t forget to try their ale too.

I visited Kinchley’s Tavern for the first time this afternoon after driving out of my way because I had heard great things. I was really looking forward to the experience and, up until a certain point, I truly enjoyed myself.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the waitress who was initially helping me was incredibly sweet, patient, and accommodating—especially since I was dining with my three-year-old son. We were having a very pleasant meal.

Unfortunately, the experience took a sharp turn when another waitress, Courtney, approached my table. She was extremely rude, made me feel uncomfortable, and completely disrupted what had been a nice, calm dinner with my child. Her behavior was so inappropriate that I felt forced to pack up our food and leave. When I addressed how rude she was being, she laughed in my face, which was honestly shocking and upsetting.

I want to note that the manager handled the situation very well once he became aware of it, and I truly appreciated how professionally he responded. That said, it’s very disappointing that a single employee’s behavior could overshadow an otherwise great experience and make a paying customer—especially one with a young child—feel so unwelcome.

I’m disappointed because I don’t live nearby and made the effort to come here specifically to try this restaurant, only to leave feeling uncomfortable and upset. I really wish my first impression hadn’t been ruined by this interaction, because the food and the rest of the staff were wonderful.
