Had a wonderful dinner experience with friends last night. We had a big group and was able to grab a table no problemas they don’t take reservations. We placed our order at the counter and they brought out our food when it was ready. I got the spring rolls, papaya salad (1 chili pepper hot) and the weekend special Nam Khao- the laos crispy rice salad, i enjoyed everything and the flavours were great, portion size was great for the price. My friends orders the chicken wings and pork skewers and chicken skewers, pad thai and basil pork stir fry and we all enjoyed our meals. Staff was super friendly and brought us all waters. Will definitely be back!

This is my second time being at the Lao-Thai street kitchen. Authentic and good food with an excellent pricing. Just the right amount of food. Thai tee, Lao iced coffee and coconut water was delicious. Thai Basil, pork skewers, chicken skewers and Nam Khao was top authentic with deep fried chillies. Amazing and a hidden gem street food.
Thank you for the wonderful experience,
Edmontonian.

Amazing restaurants here! If you like Laos foods. This is absolutely a good choice for you!
Very traditional. Menu not big, which is the best. Since I don’t like reading 10 pages of menu. I love seeing restaurant focus on their best foods! Come check this out yourself here.

Am not sure why others are saying it was large portions and maybe things have changed since. The rice dishes were served in small-med take out containers and reminded me of Taste of Calgary portions. The price is cheaper but you also get 1/3 or 1/2 portion of a standard size so it works out to be the same. Everything was considered to be snack/tasting size.
The temperature of the beef noodle soup was extra hot and this was commendable. Noodles were made perfectly as well and not mushy. Also liked the fried onions and greens in there as it adds to the flavour. Wish there were more toppings. Only 1 beef ball cut in half and a few slices of beef. I enjoyed this dish the most but was left wanting more. This is the only one that was not served in a take out container.
Flavouring of the basil pork stir fry and chicken curry flavour was good. A bit salty for the basil pork stir fry for me but some may like it this way. The spices used in the curry sauce was just right – just wished there was more chicken.
Chicken skewers were the most disappointing as they tasted like steamed turmeric/curry chicken on a stick. Didn’t have any grilled texture to it. It could have been a one-off that day.
Service was excellent and they cared for the needs of the customers even though it was an order/serve-yourself place. They seem to be able to manage the kitchen in a timely manner despite influx of customers. Understand this is a new small business so have relaxed my star ratings but hope they take these comments into consideration.

I found myself in the NE around lunch and was so glad l remembered they were open. Because they close early, l have never been able to come during the week. I got the wings with sticky rice and Laab. Imagine my delight that their Laab was authentic as l recognized chicken gizzards and also pork skin in the Laab, along with chopped beef. The contrasting textures of the meats with the fresh herbs and roasted rice was delightful. Regretted asking for spicy as l forgot Lao spicy is a cut above my level. The fish sauce and sugar along with the refreshing lime was a great combo. The wings came with green spicy sauce- also a lovely contrast to the flavourful wings. I really want to try all the other dishes and on the weekend, they do serve Crispy Rice salad. They also offer a larger platter with Lao sausage and other goodies, one great for sharing with a few friends. I am glad we have an authentic Lao Thai place here in Calgary.

Tried Kin Dee Lao-Thai Street Kitchen today during their soft opening. Everything was fresh and prices were great. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Tried most of the food on the menu. Chicken satay and moo ping skewers were great, the peanut sauce that came with chicken skewers complemented the meat better than the spicy Jaew dipping sauce that came with the pork. The Laos fried chicken tasted good too. Papaya salad was a little too spicy even if you pick mild spicy so something to keep in mind. They served us complimentary iced Thai milk tea and a coconut milk dessert with fruits and basil seeds so that was nice. Overall great value and service, and a good place for a quick bite.

They deserve more than a 5-star! Food is delicious and authentic! With the Laos and Thai twist you can find many rare choices here. We tried the fried chicken, papaya salad, and pork basil rice all score pretty high in our tasting! More importantly the value for your bucks, full combo with rice is only within $10, it’s so hard to come across this consider the inflation is going wild. Definitely recommend to come here to taste yourself and you won’t be disappointed! We will be back!

So glad to see a Lao/Thai spot pop up in YYC NE! Pulled up excited to try it all ordered spring rolls, tom yum, papaya salad, and pad thai, plus an iced coffee, Thai tea, and coconut juice to sip on. The bites were solid (that jaew sauce hits ). The papaya salad wasn’t quite what I expected, but the pad thai and tom yum delivered big time. And the DRINKS? 100% the highlight so refreshing, so good, I’d go back just for those alone!

Self serve-ish. Food was ok, price is great. You need to ask for sharing plates, you need to get your own utensils. Not very environmental. Overall, good. But too far, to want to come back. My favorite was the Satay chicken skewers and the pork skewers. If I’m in the area, I would pop in for skewers.
