This is “THE” sushi place in town, i ve been going here for months now and it’s a no brainer for me, whenever i crave sushi or a well made plate i go t Kimono (if u forget to make a reservation, they still can find.u a seat in the sushi bar where u get to watch the chefs working ), they have a wide selection for all sushi lovers, but my favorite is the Kailan menu, chef selection, he never disappoint, every piece is made with care and tastes so good !

Super helpful staff, sushi was fresh. The order of tempura vegetables was big (10-12 pieces) so keep that in mind. Cocktails were tasty too

We came to this Japanese restaurant for lunch after walking 30 minutes under the blazing sun — we were just hoping for something decent and refreshing. There weren’t many options nearby, so we gave this place a try.

Heads-up if you’re a tourist: there’s no English lunch menu provided, so you’ll likely need to pull it up on your phone. Our server spoke English and was really kind, so that definitely helped, but not all staff may be fluent.

Now for the food:
Prices are on the higher side — around $30 per lunch set. They do give you a complimentary starter (choice of miso soup, fried chicken, or salad), but honestly, I still didn’t feel it justified the price. The fried chicken was alright, nothing memorable. I heard the miso soup was better.

I ordered the “salmon lover” set (not the exact name, but close). It came with two types of salmon rolls and a salmon tartare. The rolls were generously portioned and well wrapped — like, big enough that you’ll probably look a bit unhinged trying to fit a whole piece in your mouth. You’ve been warned. The tartare, though, was a miss for me — the salmon had a bit of a smell, which made it unappetizing.

My coworker had sashimi and said it was fresh, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.

Overall, the vibe was okay and the staff were nice, but for the price, I don’t think I’d come back. A lot of rice, not a lot of flavor — and in a city full of good food, that’s just not enough.

– Chic atmosphere
– Clean
– Limited variety during lunch hours
– A bit expensive. If you’re from Toronto expect to pay more for less.
– Good service. Waitress (Samira?) was kind and quick, and was patient with our Franglais (we are FLS) (We made an effort to speak French the whole time, but she seemed to be capable of speaking some English if necessary)
– They do NOT offer AYCE (all you can eat). It is à la carte service.
– After combing through countless reviews of sushi restaurants in Quebec City, this seemed like the most promising result. I read terrible reviews of other restaurants consistently being inauthentic, dirty, horrible service and making people sick. After reading that, I decided spending the extra money was worth it. It’s still not Toronto quality, but was a nice experience.
– the Maki rolls are HUGE. I was full after ~3 but we ordered a 10 Maki combo and a 6 Nigiri + 4 Maki combo ‍ I ended up taking most of them home.
– The miso soup (soup du jour) came free with our meal.
– Would eat here again
– Would be a nice date spot
– for 2 people it came to about $40 each (includes an 18% tip)

First of all super fun atmosphere. Well decorated and the staff were so friendly! The miso soup was the BEST I’ve ever had. Seriously. My husbands calamari was also great. The only thing that throws me off is the sushi itself. The rolls were so so so big and the flavors were okay. I was expecting better due to the high ratings. But the prices were good ‍♀️

DO NOT GO HERE
I would never recommend this place.

The fish was not fresh at all and had a strong fishy smell. The rice portion was way too big compared to the fish, so it felt like eating plain rice instead of sushi. It was dry and tasteless.

When we asked for the bill, no one came for more than 10 minutes, even though the servers were checking on other tables and cleaning around us. It honestly felt like we were being ignored because we’re Asian It was very uncomfortable.

It was our first dinner in Quebec, and both the food and service were terrible. I still left a small tip just to respect the culture, but the old server came and said, “The minimum tip is 15%. Why didn’t you leave 15%?”
How rude they are?

When I explained that the food wasn’t good and the service wasn’t friendly, she just gave a sarcastic smile and kept repeating,
“You gotta give us 15% tip.”

This is the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in Canada. I would never recommend this place. Please don’t go here

Finally tried this so‑called best sushi restaurant in Québec City. The environment was pleasant, but as an Asian who grew up eating sushi, I don’t believe the Osaka chef’s combination (around $37 before tax) justifies the price.

1. Different white-fish cuts looked elegant but lacked that fresh, silky mouthfeel—some pieces showed signs of drying at the edges.
2. Salmon nigiri: standard salmon flavors
3. Scallop nigiri: this is something you might want to avoid. Not fresh and had an overwhelmingly fishy taste. Didn’t have the sweetness taste of scallop at all. When I politely mentioned these concerns, the server seemed indifferent
4. Tuna nigiri: served with the cheapest tuna akami, the frozen ones you can get in any grocery store. The sour taste revealed its age.
5. No comments on the American sushi rolls.

Honestly, super impressed by this place by both the food and service. It was our first time going for sushi in Quebec City (there aren’t many good Asian places here) but this one was such a pleasant surprise! I have to say, this place served the best spicy salmon roll I’ve had in YEARS. Would absolutely recommend it. We didn’t venture too too much into their special/unique options but everything we did get was super good!! I have to say that the food came a tad slow but nothing outrageous (~30 mins). Our server/bartender was super sweet and overall the place had great vibes too

This place is very underrated in my opinion. It is not an all you can eat sushi place but you need to realise that they serve quality food and service. The sizing of sushi orders are larger than your regular sushi joint but they taste million times fresh and just the blend of ingridients is super. Also staff are super friendly and ALEX was a delight to be served in our date night out. They do every dish right so give them a visit it worth the price

A very underrated spot but known to aficionados. The food is good, fresh and lots of choices. Seatings is possible but limited. Although food can be ordered in advance, walk-ins are welcomed and a 10-20 minutes wait is too be expected depending on your order. Eating in, food is well presented and looks appetizing. Take-out is plain take out. Becareful to not shake too much your take out box, might be surprised of the result when comes to eat. Parking is difficult and sometimes a mess since it’s a residential area with no designated parking area. The staff is nice, knowledgeable and skilled. A pleasure spot for good sushi.
