Never having Korean food before this was a good restaurant to start at. They offered plenty of food for the price. Service could’ve been better. I would recommend this place for authentic Korean food but no so much for the service

I have eaten here 3 days in a row. Everything was amazing. The bulgogi, the galbi, and the soft tofu soup are all fantastic. Food comes out piping hot and fast enough to linger over your lunch break and service is always impeccable.

Such a beautiful experience. My husband and I enjoyed everything about this family owned restaurant. Even though we’re from South Carolina I’m always super excited to discover all that Columbia and surrounding areas has to offer. I highly recommend Kimchi Korean Restaurant.

This is one of my friend and I’s favorite places to eat. We have been going for years and theres always very good service and consistent dishes. The meals are also well portioned. The atmosphere is very nice + casual and there are barriers between tables so it feels more private. Lovely!

This place is the only Korean restaurant that open on Monday on Decker Blvd and we loved it!
The inside of the place is clean and modest.
We got seated right away and its around 2:30 pm so pass lunch rush hour. The owner/server came and took our order right away.
We had the veggies pancake, jabchae, and spicy seafood tofu stew from their lunch menu and their beef ribs. The spicy seafood tofu stew, japchae, and veggies pancake were good but the beef ribs kinda chewy. The bunchan came in 5 different tiny saucer and I was hoping they have kimchi (the Chinese cabbage kimchi) but they didnt have that as part of their bunchan.
I also ordered Iced coffee and it was so good and refreshing. The server very attentive and the food came in a good amount of time. Too bad google review cant do 4.5 stars tho but go visit this place if you are craving Korean food on Monday.

A small place with excellent food! We had the tofu soup and galbi combo, dolsot bibimbap, seafood pancake, and kimbap. Everything was just right. Our server that greeted us and served us was very nice and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and can’t wait to come back! We came around 7pm with 4 people and were seated immediately.
Update: I’ve been back at least 4 times. Incredible every time. I adore this place.

I walked into this restaurant, was seated, and offered a glass of water—but that was the only service I received. After that, I was completely ignored. Despite trying to get someone’s attention, no one came to take my order.
What made it especially frustrating was watching other customers who arrived after me have their orders taken and be served while I continued to wait. After a long time with no acknowledgment or explanation, I eventually left without being served at all.
Being ignored like this made me feel unwelcome and disrespected. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend this restaurant nor will I be returning.
