I love the popcorn chicken box the most (pictured right). The purple rice is a great chewy side. You can choose what sauce you would like on your protein. I like the soy garlic the most. Korean sassy is also great but it might be on the spicy side for people who aren’t comfortable with a small kick.
The dumplings (pictured left) are an awesome appetizer to share with your friends or family.
The fries were ordered as seasoned fries but did not have any spice from what I could tell. They also could have used a dipping sauce. I was disappointed that I placed a togo order and was not given sauce. The size of the fries is good, thick ones, not dinky shoe string. Also a good amount of food, large sandwich and amount of fries.
If you decide to dine in, the dining area has plenty of seats and was clean. If you have left overs you can pick up a container by the condiment station for packaging.
If you find yourself driving along University Drive in Auburn Hills, and your taste buds are craving a touch of Korean cuisine, you might stumble upon the relatively new ‘Kimchi Box.’ Here’s the scoop on my recent visit:
**Location and Ambiance:**
Tucked away in Auburn Hills, Kimchi Box boasts a clear and cozy interior. The minimalist décor creates a comfortable atmosphere, perfect for a quick meal.
**Service:**
The staff at Kimchi Box were friendly and welcoming. They made the dining experience pleasant from the moment I walked in.
**Quick To-Go Orders:**
If you’re in a hurry, Kimchi Box won’t leave you waiting. I placed an order for two boxes to go, and within around 10 minutes, my meal was ready.
**The Taste Test:**
Now, let’s get to the heart of it – the food. While the Bulgogi Box was a good experience with its rich flavors, but the beef wasn’t tender. The Spicy Pork was not a highlight, short on spices and the meat was also far from perfect.
**Price vs. Value:**
Sadly, this is where Kimchi Box fell a bit short for me. The dishes, albeit ok, felt overpriced. It left me wondering if the dishes were entirely worth the premium price tag!
*In a Nutshell:*
Kimchi Box offers a cozy dining spot with friendly service and a speedy turnaround for to-go orders. The Bulgogi Box shines, but the Spicy Pork wasn’t a star. Be prepared to splurge a bit, though.
The food was really good. I think I might have found a new lunch go-to. The portions were pretty big and the sauces it came with were SO good.
