Kilwins is an easy stop while walking through downtown. It’s fun for kids and adults alike, with a wide selection of ice cream flavors, fudge, and other treats that are hard to ignore.
Service was friendly and efficient, with Beau standing out for being especially helpful. A pleasant, well-run spot that fits naturally into a visit to downtown Dahlonega.

Kilwin’s presents with a variety of sweets a delicious ice cream. I believe there is a little something for everyone here, and the price point for sweets are reasonable despite the top shelf aesthetic.

Generous scoops. My family liked it. $7 per a scoop does seem excessive though. Like I said, the scoop was big. Made the price a little less painful. They do offer a Military Discount. That counts for something. These 2 positive bumped them from 3 to 4 ⭐️s

Killers has fantastic ice cream and a huge selection as well. The quality is top notch. This particular Kilwins really nailed it with staffing though! Everyone is so friendly and genuine. My family had a great time just chatting with the people behind the counter.
Pro Tip: If you want to get multiple flavors but you don’t want too much ice cream, you can get multiple half scoops!

This was hands down the best ice cream I have ever had!!! Most things don’t get three exclamation marks but this does. Bow was honestly what made it that special he connected so well and even went far enough to learn my name, he even get when we accidentally spilled some. Chocolate is amazing, service is friendly. If you are from out of town, you pay 10% more than the locals ! My only complaint
I didn’t have a problem with your prices , I knew how much it was when I approached check out . The lady behind the counter asked where I was from . I told her and ask why she wanted to know , she said locals get 10% off . If you’re going to charge visitors to the great little town extra , you might keep it to yourself. Chocolate is delicious!

We got the caramel pecan apple and Jack Stone recommended cutting it so we could eat it easier. Best recommendation ever

We visited Kilwins on our road trip to Dahlonega on July 6, 2022. The smell of waffle cones wafting out into the street lured us inside as we walked past! Once inside we were immediately offered samples of fudge and ice cream, which was very helpful in deciding what to order.
The shop was spotlessly clean, and the young adult staff was very kind and hardworking. In addition to serving customers, they all seemed to be helping one another out and really working as a team. The three of us all got one scoop of ice cream each, all in waffle bowls. The ice cream and bowls were delicious! I bought a ceramic Kilwins mug, which included free refills of coffee. The young lady working there made a fresh pot of coffee for me and was very accommodating.
We were happy to see that Kilwins stayed open a couple hours later than the rest of the shops in the square (which all closed way too early for summer…6:00 pm was super disappointing, after driving 2 and a half hours to get there). My only complaint about Kilwins is that they did not have a restroom. This wasn’t a huge deal, though since there’s a public restroom in the Visitors’ Center that was available. It still would’ve been nice to have one in the ice cream shop since it was super hot outside and starting to rain. Also, there is very limited seating inside. It wasn’t busy during the time we got there, so we were able to snag the few seats at a small bar area. A group of people who came in after us had to eat their ice cream outside in the heat, where I’m sure it quickly melted. Kilwins should consider adding some cute tables and chairs inside to offer more seating options.

The best chocolate treats and ice cream in Dahlonega! We got an ice cream flight which was our choice of any four flavors, served with a vanilla wafer and any premium toppings. Each of the four ice creams we had were fantastic including: toasted coconut, very cherry, 2 Berry ice cream pie, and cookies and cream. We appreciate that the staff were friendly and helpful. We also purchased some of their wonderful chocolates.
