Food was amazing as usual.
I normally go to their other location during the day.

Pork belly sandwich was perfect. Seasoned and sauce was excellent bread was fresh.

AMAZING food.

You can order your food and they will bring it to you at the bar as well!

My son, daughter, and I ordered a Caribbean jerk Poboy, pork belly Poboy, and a shrimp Poboy. We all took a bite of each other‘s, and the table favorite was the pork belly. Sooooo good!!!
I ordered the Caribbean jerk and ate all of it, but the one bite that my son and daughter had and by the time we walked back to our hotel after lunch, I had food poisoning. Not sure what happened but it was definitely from my sandwich.

Food Review: Killer PoBoys at Erin Rose

Location: New Orleans, LA
Overall Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)

️ Food Quality — ★★☆☆☆
Braised beef debris PoBoy didn’t land for me. Somehow dry and wet at once—uninspired texture, and the pickled beans didn’t help the balance. Kettle chips may have their fans, but they didn’t elevate the plate for me.

Service — ★★☆☆☆
Service was indifferent, at best. The person taking my order brought more attitude than attentiveness. No urgency, no pride—it felt like food was being passed, not presented.

Atmosphere — ★★★★★
Where they do shine: dive bar vibes, dim lighting, and strong visuals. Abstract artwork gave the walls character, and tucked-away food service in the back added to that “if you know, you know” energy. Gaming stations added a cool, unexpected layer.

Location — ★★★★☆
Central and easy to find. A neighborhood anchor if you’re bar-hopping, people-watching, or catching late-night bites.

️ Highlights
• Ambience is dive-bar excellent
• Interesting art and tucked-away charm
• Service and food didn’t match the space’s potential

TLDR:
Killer PoBoys at Erin Rose is giving cool corner bar energy, but that vibe didn’t extend to the plate or the service. If you’re stopping in for drinks and visual flavor, it’s a win. Just don’t expect the food to carry the name.

Went to Killer Poboys at Erin Rose with my boss and another colleague of mine when they said they were after a Po Boy for lunch, I’d saved this in a list of ‘must go’ places before I even left for NOLA.

This bar is small with maybe just over a dozen seats, very eclectic decor and a huge range of drinks. Po Boys in the back area to either eat there or have them brought to the bar.

Tried the braised beef (they had the pork and the shrimp) and it was amazing, the beef was cooked to perfection and the pickled beans were such a good accompaniment. The bread roll was nice and crusty which is how I like it, just like a Bahn Mi, whereas everywhere else we went had softer bread.

Would absolutely go back again, this place was awesome.

It took us some time to find this place, as it’s located in the back of a kitch old school bar (Erin Rose). It was in the morning, so the place was empty. The guy (not friendly but not rude either) took our order and recommended for us to get a drink at the bar. He brought us the food there a few minutes later. The food was good. I got the sweet potato Po Boy (vegetarian) which was great. All in all, a good vegetarian-friendly place to get Po Boys and a cheap drink. Good atmosphere in the bar.

We stopped in here for some lunch and had some of the best po boys ever! The gumbo was unreal and the vibe of this place is fantastically cool. Our waiter was lovely and fun to chat with. It can be difficult to find a restaurant in the French Quarter that doesn’t feel overly touristy but this place did kind of feel like a hole in the wall in the best possible way. Embrace the taste and southern hospitality!

Heading to the back of Erin rose, it’s easy to be doubtful of how good a poboy you could get from the little kitchen back there, but we were pleasantly surprised! Great poboys in a variety of flavors. We tried the glazed pork and beef ones, both were delicious. Can be a little messy, would recommend eating quickly as they can get a bit mushy quickly. The glazed pork had a sweetness to it, and the beef had pickled veggies that gave it a nice zing. Pair it with a frozen Irish coffee from the bar for a great meal.

They could not have picked a better name for this place. Their poboys are KILLER!! Tucked in the very back of Erin Rose, the brisket poboy was the best poboy I’ve ever eaten, and that’s saying a lot because I’ve lived in New Orleans all my life, and eaten a lot of poboys. Non-traditional, the brisket is off the charts flavorful and the spicy green beans and banana peppers take your taste buds to another level. I can’t wait to go back and not only order it again, but try the shrimp as well. Do yourself a favor and try it out.

The poboys were so amazing! We got the brisket one and the shrimp one. They are very generous with the toppings (some 15+ of the biggest shrimp I’ve ever had), and the service was fast and the staff very nice. It’s a cool little alternative bar. $14 or less for the sandwiches and $6 or less for beer. Would definitely recommend

Great variety of PoBoys, including shrimp, pork and beef. I tried the pork belly option and it had a great flavour to it and was quite filling.

You walk through this bar to the back where you can buy the PoBoys at a window. While I definitely enjoyed my PoBoy, the best part was probably the actual bar. Great staff and decorations and a good beer selection!
