Overall vibe is a local dive kinda bar with regulars, and a mixed age group.
Yeah, its an Irish bar. Sure, the bartender behind the bar was a bit salty and he kind of gave me a little grief about mispronouncing the beer Smithwick’s…but that doesn’t mean they deserve one star. It’s a bar, have some thick skin.
Their wings were pretty good, and the service was fine. They get busy and distracted; the bartender had to shut down some rowdy pool players, but he handled it well and got back to us when he could. I think he was working the bar by himself and it was
BUSY!
It is CASH ONLY so be aware of that. I believe they do have an ATM inside. And their drink specials vary day to day.
The live music was pretty chill, and it was nice to be able to sit and just relax after a long day. So yeah, give it a chance and drink some cool Irish beers.

This place SUCKS! We went there tonight with 3 in our party (Two 50 year olds and our 75 year old handicapped mom) Mom was having a hard time walking the downtown and carrying her purse so I asked her to leave her purse in the car. We finally arrived at this bar and the woman at the door refused to let us in because our mother did not have her ID. She insisted we leave and go back to our car to get the ID. She would not make any exception. We went to 3 other restaurants/bars in Keene tonight and NO ONE else asked us for ID. Sounds like we are paying for their previous indiscretions or poor staffing choices. We asked the door lady for a manager and she is the manager and would not get anyone else to assist us. She simply said “it’s NH law” and did not care about the situation at all. My husband and I owned a bar for 7-years and never would we have treated an elderly customer, or any other customer, that way. No empathy at all! Get a brain, we are not robots. We will never go there again!

Stopped in at KillKenny Pub while in town for a graduation weekend in Keene. The place has a lot going for it – great beer selection, affordable bar food, and a crowd full of interesting characters. Definitely has that local landmark vibe we’d heard about.
Unfortunately, the experience was soured by the bartender on duty. The service was cold and dismissive from the start. Despite tipping after each round, we were met with attitude and poor customer service throughout our visit. We later found out that this individual was actually the manager, which made it even more disappointing.
It’s a shame – with a better front-of-house experience, this could’ve been a spot we’d come back to. But being treated poorly by the person in charge makes us think twice about returning next time we’re in town.

Cool atmosphere. We were from out of state and didn’t feel super welcomed. Had one drink and left. The door man was nice. Bartender could have been a little more friendly.

I enjoy going out and having drinks and playing pool every so often with my buddy and we never have any issues with service or getting served or with the staff except for one specific bartender who seems to target my friend,wego with on multiple occasions just to play pool and have a few drinks by our second drink the bartender will refuse service to my friend,at which point he will go out of his way to refuse service and question you if you are with my friend if he decides to give you a drink he will sit there before making the drink and tell me that she can’t have any more,she isn’t allowed to drink any of this and even going so far as refusing to serve her water if she asks for it directly and stating “it doesn’t sober you up” and even choosing to leave behind the bar to come out to a pool table and tell her she can’t drink more and even try to kick her out,not me or anyone of our friends have any issues getting served with any other bartenders but it really feels like he singles her out every single time either of them are at the bar,it seems like he’s eyeballing what he believes she can drink based on her size and gender because I see absolutely no one at the bar having these issues besides her and other young females

My friend went in there with her fake ID last year and they took it behind the bar to scan it and “call it in”, they came back and said it was a real ID. They even apologized and gave her a free drink 🙂 10/10 customer service
They replied and said I’m lying! Multiple witnesses would beg to differ, I guess they just took it out back and gave it a “real good look” before telling her it was real 🙂 They must not be bothering to check suspected fakes at all, even better! I also have time-stamped pictures and videos of her drinking underage at Kilkenny’s as well as screenshots of the bartender’s girlfriend charging her $50 for drinking as a minor Best place to go if you’re underage, but they might stop serving you when you turn 21, they love serving alcohol to teenage girls

Excellent “bar food”. Menu is pretty diverse for a pub. The place is a bit dark inside. The crowd varies tremendously depending on the day of the week and the time of day!

Came here for after dinner drinks for my daughter 21st birthday. Good atmosphere and cheap drinks. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. We will going back soon. 10/10 would recommend.
