Get the Red Snapper Poisson with athieke. It is cooked to the perfect level of crisp while keeping the fish tasty and not overdone. Also make sure to sprinkle some of the included seasoning on every bite of athieke for a little extra spice. Topped off with the bubbly Senegal Cocktail. Everything was delicious, chill atmosphere, and the staff was very friendly. I’ll definitely be back for more.

Parking during lunch was very convenient. The interior plus good music made for the right vibe. Our waitress was very attentive considering the full tables and a busy takeout line. The food was well-priced and bursting with flavor. The contrast between the flavors of the barbecued meat and the sauce they are tossed in is nice. The drinks were also great. The menu is highly varied so we hope to visit again and try some of the other items.

We absolutely enjoyed every moment in here. It was good to be in the midst of our fellow Africans. The restaurant was clean, organized and well maintained. The food they served us were very tasty and the drink was typical African folere. The customer service was exceptional. It was a good experience and I strongly recommend to all.

The food was delicious. We had the Lamb and Tilapia with Jollof, the onions on top add so much flavor. The Maafe with Chicken was also very good. We order plantains as well that were freshly fried and sweet. The Ginger and mange drink was taste amazing. They also had live music which added to the atmosphere. 10/10 experience

Let me start by saying how beautifully decorated the restaurant is. The vibrant colors and decor make you feel welcomed and happy., the customer service is excellent and the wait staff were very friendly. The FOOD…. I can’t say enough how good the food was; it’s African food (Senegalese ) everything was so flavorful and cooked right. I’ve had Liberian, and Nigerian food but this was amazing. The red snapper was delicious and grilled to perfection; I really didn’t care for the athieke. It was over cooked and mushy, the plantains were amazing! It was paired with sweet carrots and onions in a tomato based sauce. My friend loved all of her food, she had the chicken and jollof rice which she stated that everything was full of flavor and delicious. My only complaint is that they did not have dessert…. We had to go somewhere else for a sweet treat. The menu selections are not much but what they do have is worth the visit. I recommend this beautiful restaurant to everyone please try ❤️

We brought a group visiting for a work conference as part of a food tour all around Philly and this was an exceptional experience. We focused on the diversity and representation of our multi-cultural city, of which none of our visiting guests had ever eaten West African food before. They all came back for multiple services of the Yassa Philly chicken, meat patties, and Senegal cocktail. Youma personally welcomed our group and shared some of her backstory – which was our favorite part of the whole experience. We can’t wait to bring many MANY more groups back to Kilimandjaro. Thank you Youma and Abiche!!!

The decor at Kilimandjaro is devine. The food is delicious. And, the service is superb. Conveniently located in West Philadelphia the space is pristine, even the bathrooms are beautiful. Second visit to measure consistency and was not disappointed. The ginger drinks are a great palate cleanser as well as refreshing. I had the salad with the homemade dressing and was impressed with the freshness of the ingredients as well as portion size. Ordered two lamb dishes -!chops that were grilled and succulent sautéed lamb. You must try the Thieboudienne but order before 3pm since this popular dish runs out early. Special touches were fresh cut flowers changed out from casual lunch bunches to dinner bouquets. This family run establishment is a hit!

Had such a great experience here. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the food was packed with deep, comforting flavors. Everything tasted homemade in the best way—rich spices, tender meats, and perfectly cooked rice.

The Poison with plantain and onions is superb. I could eat the onions by themselves; they’re sooo good!
