Kike’s Taqueria absolutely crushed it!
I ordered the birria burrito and honestly… I’m still thinking about it. The tortilla was perfectly toasted, the meat was crazy tender, and every bite felt like a warm hug from someone who actually cares about you. And don’t even get me started on the hot sauce—spicy, delicious, and just dangerous enough to make you question your life choices in the BEST way.
The staff was super friendly too! They treated me like a regular even though it was my first time. You can really tell they love what they do.
Definitely recommending this place to all my friends and family. If you haven’t tried it yet, go. Run. Your taste buds will thank you.
At least the food was good. The salsas are just on big bottles which they seem a bit dirty.
There is nothing fancy about this place. It’s small with about 8 tables and a TV that almost always has soccer on. You order at a counter, get your own soda, and pick up your garbage and throw away. Much like at fast food.
Their street tacos are only $2.25 and are very good. Their carne asada and carnitas tacos are way better than Marco’s. But my favorite tacos are their Taco de Birria Dorado con Queso y Habanero. They are spicy, meaty, cheesy taco goodness and $3.75. Their consommé is $2.50. Also, they have an amazing Torta. That bread!! Oh my!!
Unfortunately no hand made/pressed tortillas, and the camarones a la diabla was all spice and no sweet. (They did tell me they could made it sweet and spicy when I asked).
Rice flavor wasn’t there, and the beans were clumpy/not thick enough, but I still ate it.
The vegetables were crisp and cold, everything was very edible, just very American-ized.
Quesabirria was flavorful, beef was shredded nicely and was pre dressed which is interesting.
I didn’t know what to expect with the consome as I’ve only ever had consome de chivo, but dressed with cilantro and onion, a little lime and it was good to go. I tried it by itself, the flavor of the beef was there, not overpowering.
The tables were clean when I got there, and cleaned throughout. I definitely wouldn’t honor the 5 second rule off the floor, but that’s why we wear shoes.
They have every right to brag, a solid 7.5/10 just from the small portion I tried, I’ll be back!
