I came here a few times to eat pho dac biet and chicken rice — both are pretty good! The food comes out fast ⏱️ and the prices are very reasonable . Service is just okay, nothing special but not bad either . Overall, Kiên Giang Quán is a nice spot to grab a quick Vietnamese meal in Eden Center .

I always crave a Bun Bo Hue, and this one was the best I’ve ever had. The broth was flawless, noodles perfect and so very much meat inside! We also had the meatballs pho and the chicken pho, which were both amazing. The place is inside the little mall in Eden Center. Many great restaurants around but this is a solid choice. Very down to earth, efficient and nice. Loved everything!

Our family has been loyal customers of this Vietnamese restaurant for over five years, visiting weekly. Unfortunately, this time was deeply disappointing. After our meal, we left a 15% tip under the bowl, but the young waitress actually ran outside after us, sternly demanding more tip money.
The irony is, she barely provided any service — the Spanish gentleman brought our water and served our food. It felt extremely unfair. Over the past six months, prices at this restaurant have already increased by $3–4 per dish, yet the service quality has only declined. Even the most basic courtesy, like a friendly smile, seems to have disappeared. We were greeted with visible annoyance the moment we walked in.
Perhaps they assumed we weren’t locals and could be taken advantage of. The situation was embarrassing; we only wanted to end the awkwardness quickly since many people were watching at the door. In all our years dining out, we’ve never been chased down for extra tips. Ironically, many Vietnamese customers here don’t leave tips at all — yet as people who also work in the restaurant industry, we understand how hard service work can be and have always shown respect and generosity.
But this experience left us humiliated and disappointed.
Even good food cannot make up for the lack of respect.
Spending money only to be treated this way is unacceptable.
We won’t be coming back, and we hope other diners think twice before visiting — this place has lost sight of the very principles that define good hospitality

Bun Bo hue was on the lighter side. Still very good. BBH was not spicy. I like mine a bit more flavorful but still come is still good. My friend ordered the pho dac biet and has a light but deep beef flavor.
Edit: went back 2nd time and bun Bo hue and pho dac biet deserve a 5 stars now. Would def come back and eat.

This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the DMV. I’ve dined here countless times and have enjoyed every dish on their small menu. Tucked away in a far corner of Eden Center, Kien Giang Quan serves phenomenal pho, bun bo hue, and chicken noodle soups. The noodles are always al dente, the broth is rich and flavorful, and the toppings are plentiful! You know it’s a good Vietnamese restaurant when all customers dining there are Vietnamese.
One minor note- the food is the highlight here, not the service. The food will be served quickly but don’t expect the wait staff to come by again.

If you can look past customer service and owner’s attitude, then you will be able to enjoy the food which taste good. Pho broth is flavorful. You almost don’t need to season it with anything else. I personally like the hot chili oil so that was a plus.

Disgraceful. We came to support this place, some of us regulars, but the staff treated us like we were a problem from the start. We asked to join two tables and got a smug “store policy” response. Whatever, we let it go.
No water refills. Rude, eye-rolling staff. The girl serving us acted like we were beneath her.
We still paid and tipped. Then the girl cashier ran after us demanding more tip. Are you kidding? We already tipped, and they still chased us down for extra cash. Embarrassing, desperate, pathetic.
We gave more just to end the awkwardness, but it felt like a shakedown. If they’re this hard up for money, maybe try not treating your customers like garbage.
Avoid this place. We’re never coming back or recommending this place to anyone.

I’ve lived in the Washington DC area for almost 50 years and am a big pho fan. This restaurant has the best pho I’ve ever eaten outside Vietnam. I’m very familiar with competing pho restaurants in the area (such as Pho 75 in Rosslyn) and I consider Kien Giang Quan superior. The pho has a rich broth and plenty of meat. It is a truly excellent meal.
