When my wife and I lived in Renton, this Kidd Valley and the adjacent Ivar’s were among our favorite places for a quick meal in great surroundings — and with a great view. We’ve since moved away, and this was our first visit in several years. It is as good as we remember.

Coulon Park is the crown jewel of Renton, and is extremely popular in good weather. Pick another time to visit this restaurant, as we did (mid-day Friday, in early March, on a rainy day). Otherwise, you’ll have a LOT of company.

My wife and I each ordered a hamburger, and split an order of fries. The 1/4 lb. meat patty was cooked to perfection, with a slightly crispy exterior. The fillings included generous portions of shredded lettuce, pickle slices, etc. By comparison, a Jack In The Box basic burger includes a whopping two small pickle slices and a dab of ketchup — for not much less money.

The French fries were very good. Surprisingly, they were not salted, which was a pleasant surprise. Several free sauces are available for the fries.

If you insist on dining here in good weather, order your food takeout, and dine under the adjacent covered dining area. It’ll be busy, but not the madhouse that the restaurant itself can be during busy times.

The park has lots of parking spots in several lots. Considering this park’s popularity, empty spots may last for only a few milliseconds during busy times. In desperation, try the lots at the south end of the park. In extreme desperation, park in the The Landing’s lots, further to the south. Wear your walking shoes.

This is a hamburger joint in a city park, not a Michelin-rated restaurant. I rated Kidd Valley based on how well they perform as a fast-food restaurant, not by the same standards as as a fine dining spot.

I’ve been to a few Kidd Valleys, and the waterfront view makes this the best one. The burger and garlic fries are always consistently good and is worth the higher price (compared to most fast food places).

We really enjoyed our experience during our lunch hour. Staff was friendly and very helpful. I loved that I was able to add blue cheese crumbles to my Burger along with other additions that didn’t hinder my order. I wish I could’ve eaten there, because the view was bright and open. Service was quick while not comprising quality. I recommend this spot.

If you are want to sit by the water and have a burger or sip on a shake this is the place to do it. Be aware that parking can be tricky at times and that it will more than likely be busy on those hot days with lake goers coming and going.

The location is awesome, with excellent outdoor seating that offer sweeping views of Lake Washington, the Olympic Mountains on a clear day, and downtown Seattle. The food is fine – typical fast food quality, yet pricey for what you get.

Mushroom Swiss burger, 7/10. They offer to do burgers on a bed of lettuce, which was a bonus for me. The grilled mushrooms and swiss are good, yet relatively small portions. The burger is fine, yet a bit greasy and bland.

Onion rings, 8/10. These were solid. Batter is flavorful, yet there’s a bit much of it. I wanted a higher onion / batter ratio.

Fries, 5/10. They’re ok. Bland. Not very crispy. Not worth the calories, imo.

This was our first time going to Kidd Valley. We were not disappointed! The burgers are a good size and very tasty! We got a nice portion of fries as well! For not being a very big place, they sure do offer a wide variety of beef burgers, cheese burgers as well as chicken burgers or strips, burger dip with or without au jus, a vegan burger and patty melt. They offer several choices of fries, regular, garlic, or sweet potato. They also serve onion rings and fried mushrooms.

Great Location with a view of lake Washington. The food was great and well worth the money. The staff were okay not really friendly but not rude either. Service was a bit slow despite being the only customers in the building. But I would definitely go again for the food!

My husband is obsessed with the banana milkshakes and as someone that usually hates banana treats because they always taste artificial I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted his and it was real banana. The burgers are consistently good and we also love the deep fried mushrooms. Staff is friendly and food gets out pretty quick even when its busy. I love that we can choose between indoor or outdoor seating as well. This is a go to spot on a nice day with the family.

I am not a big hamburger eater however I was totally thrilled and delighted when I sunk my teeth into this mushroom Burger with sauteed onions. It was delicious and the garlic fries were fresh and tasty. Id eat here again in a heat beat. And the banana shake was on point°
