If you’re looking for real barbecue in La Porte, Kickin’ Kajun Smokehouse is the spot.
I had the beef rib plate and the flavor was exactly what good BBQ should be, deep smoke, great bark, and cooked right. This is real barbecue. This ain’t Kings
Don’t pass on the deserts they are good!
One thing I’d still love to see on the menu is smoked wings

The absolute best bbq around, hands down. Everything is so well seasoned, made with love, and smoked to perfection. I have been to the best bbq places Texas has to offer around the state, and Kickin Kajun can keep up with the best.

Has stolen my palette. It is by far the best I’ve ever eaten! The smoked turkey leg and etoufffee was superb. The turkey melted like butter in my mouth. And the etouffee? Flavor spice heat! It had it all.
The BBQ baked potato was insane! It fed my husband and me & we still had leftovers.
You can eat in at Rainout, a nice little ice house with exceptional service and ice cold beer or get your food to go. (Either way, don’t forget to tip your server)

The food is average, at best…it’s no Killens, and the owner has the nerve to be rude to customers. SMH. Get some training on how to treat customers first and then get some culinary training on how to cook. My brisket was ice cold, ribs were slathered in sauce. Good ribs don’t need sauce. Sides were ok though, but t h e customer service was the worst part of it all. Do better, my boy! Treat people kindly and you will go far in life.

PROs- Food was delicious, ribs and brisket. Portions were VERY generous. Price was fair. FAST service.
CONs- Poor customer service. Male appeared bothered customer was present. Several sides on menu were not available.
Hoping this was a “one time” situation. I MIGHT give this place another try in the future since my order would be to go, however would opt out to dining-in.
Customer service is a big one for me. Definitely would recommend improvement.

I tried Kickin’ Kajun for lunch today and it did not disappoint. I had the brisket and ribs, and both were really good.
The ribs were super tender and basically falling off the bone. The brisket was moist with a great smoky flavor exactly what you want from good BBQ.
If you’re in the mood for legit BBQ, this place is definitely worth a stop. I’d go back for sure.

Great classic American BBQ. See a lot of reviews on here that you can tell are fake and just competition of fake/generic google accounts leaving lies. Just go try it for yourself! Also can get a table outside or inside at the connected Rainouts Bar and listen to music with a cold drink while you eat.

By far the best BBQ in LaPorte and the surrounding cities and especially for the price point. Between the pork steaks, brisket, ribs, turkey, chicken, sausage or even their sides I have yet to find a complaint on the end of my fork!
Last year we decided to give them a try at their Thanksgiving Cajun fried turkeys and a smoked ham with a huge success so we did it all over again this year as well.

The company that I work for catered some food from here and OMG that brisket is delicious and the brisket rice is just amazing. You can definitely see the labor they put into but can really taste the love that they it made with.

By far the best smoked turkey we have ever had for the holidays took a gamble on this place and man I’m sure glad we did they are now my go to for every year to come. Can not wait to stop by during the year and see how the bbq taste…. Thank you guys for the wonderful experience
