Kichi Omakase HONEST review : r/PhiladelphiaEats – Reddit

Rushed omakase (or $300 per person in Philly) can GTFO. But a seating within 30 minutes is a bit of a flag.

February 2026: This was our first Omakase experience. So we weren’t sure exactly what to expect. Kichi Omakase has seating for 12 persons on 2 different levels– we dined on the 2nd level ehich we recommend. The first floor dining area is not far from the entrance and guests come in and out. Our reservation was for 6:30 pm and we were seated right on time. The chefs expertly prepared each of the 16 courses. Our chef identified each as we were served. There are several that were memorable including the wagyu, salmon with caviar and gold dust, and the black cod sperm. Bring sake, plum wine, or your favorite beverage. It was a great experience. Our servers were pleasant and professional. Come here to celebrate a special night out.

It’s a BYOB omakase spot in the city that requires reservations. The 15 course menu features premium ingredients like foie gras, king salmon, otoro, and A1 wagyu beef. I really like how each piece is paired with unique supporting elements that highlight its flavor. The entire experience lasts about 1.5 hours and $95/ person before tax and gratuity, they also provide an a la carte menu to add on the experience. They can accommodate some dietary restrictions, but since it’s primarily a sushi focused menu, vegans may want to skip this one. A great spot to celebrate a sophisticated birthday.

This restaurant is gorgeous, the staff is so knowledgeable and kind, and the food…. Ive had many omakases in my day and this one takes the cake for price to quality ratio. Each time I got a new dish I was shocked that I was getting all of this quality fish for the price. Genuinely couldn’t recommend this place enough.

The 95$ omakase was wonderful! For my birthday we reserved the upstairs dining which was a small private area. Everything was perfect and the service was good! I would come back again. Best fish I’ve had 🙂

Really good omakase and we’re accommodating about swapping out certain fish which is super kind.

The sushi was great!

My only thought is that I did feel a little hungry before leaving so I ordered 2 more pieces but probably could have used a few more in the omakase itself.

Tried omakase for a birthday dinner. IMO I wished there was more attention to detail & quality ingredients, such as using exotic limes instead of regular Mexican lime, they used premade wasabi instead of freshly grated wasabi. I think the fish wasn’t comparable in quality to other omakase places I’ve had in Philly. The sushi chef wasn’t as skilled, cutting uneven pieces of fish, even to an untrained eye can observe. Many pieces I’ve had wasn’t memorable. The service was a miss at various points during service, we were not given a dessert spoon, dinner was a rush for the meal price we paid, towards the end our whole dining group was rushed out like a herd of cattle right after the dessert piece was served, this tampered the ambiance of our dinner. Overall, this was an OK experience but I wouldn’t call this a true omakase.

One of my favorite Omakases ever. At the price point it really can’t be beat and I’d rather go here than any of the other mid tier sushi restaurants in Philly where you’ll end up spending almost the same amount.

Celebrated my husband’s birthday. 16 courses for $100 each person.

Insanely good! Great variety. Went at 5PM on a Friday because we had a babysitter. We booked the “upstairs indoor” seat and it was amazing. Were the only guests at this table and the chef prepared every course in front of us. Staff was very attentive. Reminded me of Michelin dining.

I went here last night with my girlfriends and it was such an amazing experience! We sat at the private omakase counter upstairs and loved the intimate setting. The 15-course menu for $95 is an incredible value, especially with how fresh the fish was. My favorites were the toro, uni, salmon, and the eel with foie gras, they were absolutely delicious. Every course was beautifully prepared, and the whole evening felt special without being overly formal. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a high-quality omakase experience at a great price point.

If you’re looking for a sushi experience that’s high-quality, Kichi Omakase IS THE PLACE!! Every piece I had was extremely fresh and the flavor was well balanced. Despite my gluten restriction, the chef went out of their way to make sure I could enjoy the full experience, which was truly amazing. Inside was cozy and beautifully decorated. The chefs are not only skilled but also engaging. The staff were very welcoming, polite, and attentive! My experience here went very smoothly. I can’t wait to come again!
