One of our favorite sushi places in Ventura county. This little sushi restaurant is an unassuming restaurant on a busy street.
It looks like at one time it was a fast food restaurant before the current owners established a Japanese cuisine restaurant.
Again the menu is fairly basic, but the food is prepared well.
Atmosphere is of course Japanese decor. Seating is comfortable.
Price is average for the items we ordered.
Mixed tempura, which included 5 shrimp, yams, carrots, potato, string beans and zucchini. Standard fare. Includes bowls of rice and 2 dishes of sushi. A California roll and a baked heat wave roll, which was baked and included shrimp, crab meat, rice and jalapenos.
The last sushi dish was my favorite. Something new with a little bit of kick of spice from the jalapenos.

Quick seating on Friday for happy hour, friendly service, food came out in less than 15 minutes and was surprisingly good quality for happy hour prices(from 8pm till closing everyday). The sushi pieces were probably best bang for your buck because the piece of fish was much bigger than the rice it was sitting on top of. The steak for the teriyaki bowl was so tender but clearly someone forgot to season it with salt before cooking it and I felt their sushi rice was slightly undercooked but still edible.The spicy heat roll was definitely spicy which I enjoyed and the tuna belly roll was bland. Overall I enjoyed the meal. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely amazing! We were in town for the Seaside Oddities Expo and wish we had found this place sooner! Everything we had was excellent and fresh! Miso soup was perfectly balanced. Service was great we sat at the bar during happy hour which had amazing prices and selection. We can’t wait to go back!

The happy hour deal here is so worth waiting until 8PM for. It was my first time here and the rolls on the happy hour menu were better than other places. They had a roll for every craving to satisfy. They even have sashimi on the happy hour menu. The large hot sake for $2.99 is a price you can’t beat anywhere nearby.
I got the pineapple cocktail’s sake for $4.99, and it satisfied my sweet tooth. It gets busy for happy hour so if you don’t want to wait, I recommend coming 15 minutes before it starts. We will definitely be back to place after finding this hidden gem.

I recommend going on the happy hour they offer a daily “Crazy Happy Hour” in two shifts. The happy hour is available every day from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and again from 8:00 p.m. to closing. It definitely make a difference on the experience. I wish I knew this before and I would have save. Since the quality is not compromised just because it’s a happy hr.

Stopped in for a Lu ch date with my wife and was very impressed
We’ve eaten her before but today was great! The lunch specials were super good deal. I got the one where I got like six pieces of sushi and I also got a shrimp tempura roll with it. All of the lunch specials come with a salad and miso soup. I was actually really surprised at how full the location was today. But we were able to quit quick service and really enjoyed the lunch there.

Ella our waitress made our dinner out with two kids effortless she helped us with recommendations, was very attentive and anticipated our needs – haven’t had this type of service in longtime she needs to be recognized for her still as a waitress , hard working and excellent service! Thank you Ella

Kibo is my go-to spot! I’ve been a regular for years. They’ve got everything from fresh sashimi to yummy noodles. Their menu is huge, so there’s something for everyone.

Food was quick, delicious and prepared right in front of us at the sushi bar. Service was a bit slow but they where also slammed. Plenty of parking and easy access to the building is a plus when in Ventura! I would definitely recommend Kibo.
