I live in South Hadley and was in the commons for Valentine’s Day and my fiancé and I decided to check this place out and I couldn’t have been happier. Everyone was extremely welcoming and sweet, the place is small, but very cute and clean, they had flowers set up at all the tables and were giving away cups of iced tea and chocolate flowers for couples. Chef June clearly runs the place and makes the food with love and she made my first Valentine’s Day with my fiancé very special. The food is something I cannot say enough good things about, I had the yellow curry and it was honestly one of if not the best curry dish I’ve ever had. As we were leaving, chef June had us take 2 real roses and thanked us for spending our first Valentine’s Day there. I have been telling everyone about this place and will continue to do so.

Wonderful food! Everything is fresh and delicious. Very well-balanced flavors. Last time I had the Thai Basil Stir-Fry and Green Papaya Salad; today I had the Green Curry and Green Papaya Salad with shrimp while my friend had Shrimp Pad Thai. All excellent! The desserts aren’t to be missed — be sure to save room because they are amazing creations of European forms with Asian favor profiles (like Ube Terracotta or Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake just as examples). The kitchen is open, and everything is very clean and cheerful. Chef June is warm and welcoming as are all of the staff. A gem in western Mass!

I went on a trip and had Kiao Wan for lunch. I ordered the Ube custard with coconut cream and beef noodle soup, it was amazing! The food was delicious and the service was so kind and welcoming. I am so jealous of the students at Mount Holyoke and Umass who get to eat here all the time!

I ordered take out from here for the first time, and I ordered the fresh spring roll, chicken massaman curry, jasmine rice, and cha manao (homemade thai lime tea). Everything was so delicious, flavorful, and suited my taste palette!!! Nothing was under seasoned and the portion sizes for takeout were great so i have leftovers for my next meal. The staff was so friendly when they were taking my order and giving it to me. Service was quick and direct. It was so cute that there was a little tea sticker on my drink and it came in a bamboo holder. This is the best Thai food in the area that I’ve tried, and I’ve been searching for good South East Asian food in Western Mass for a few years. I also really liked that they had inclusive food options, like halal, vegan, and vegetarian options since I’m big on veggies. It’s right across from Mount Holyoke college so it was super convenient to get to after my class there. I’ve heard really good things about the pad thai here, and I’ll definitely be trying it next time I eat at Kiao Wan Thai. I would literally come here just for their home made teas too, they were not overly sweet, perfect for Asian taste palettes. This is a great alternative to just eating bland dining hall food whenever I’m there… prices were great. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture of the food until halfway through hahaha. happy to support a local small business.

What a gem! I’m Vietnamese/Chinese and have grown up eating southeast Asian food and this is hands down the best Thai place in the Valley. It is authentic, made with fresh ingredients to order. We had the crispy tofu app which was lightly breaded and perfectly fried. The Pad Thai was excellently sauced with the perfect balance of sweet, salty and tang– no dry clumps of noodles! The Kiao Wan green curry was also perfectly balanced and tasted fresh with a delightful spicy kick that wasn’t overpowering.
The staff is very welcoming and kind, and the service was prompt. The owner came and checked on us a couple of times and it’s clear she genuinely cares. This is not just another cheap takeout place, this is a TOP restaurant that should NOT be skipped.
The worst part was just how many things looked amazing on the menu… It was hard to choose! But we’ll be back

This is probably some of the best Thai food I have ever had!!! Everything tastes so fresh and vibrant! The Chef here is extremely talented. I’m a chef myself, with many many years of restaurant experience under my belt. So if I’m saying the chef is good at what they do here I really mean it. I had both the Massaman Curry and the Green Curry. One with Chicken and one with Steak and the Thai Eggplant in the Green Curry is something truly delicious. Both Dishes literally blew my mind!! I mean the taste of each dish are addictive. The staff is also AMAZING!!! Super friendly and knowledgeable. I wish I can give Kiao Wan ten stars on here fr fr! I definitely recommend eating here. Not to mention that mostly all of their dishes are gluten free and vegan so that will be a big plus for some people. Thank you soooo much Kiao Wan for the incredible,delicious and memorable meals!!!!!

The owner is just as sweet as her desserts — the taro tiramisu is my favorite! The space is small, and you order/pick-up at the counter, which I don’t find ideal for a full curry meal, but I’ll definitely be back for a Thai tea and treat to-go.

Absolutely fantastic Thai food and a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere. The Pad See Ew (Stir Fried Noodles) were sweet, savory, and had a nice crunch. Very flavorful and filling! Chef June and all her employees are accommodating and friendly. Kiao Wan offers a great experience both in flavor and in environment!

I came in during the weekend to try Kiao Wan, recommended by my daughter. Everything from the spice level to the sauce was perfection. The mango sticky rice was perfectly rich.
My daughter ordered green curry with beef. I ordered the beef pad ka pow, the spice level was awesome for both. The meat was perfectly cooked and the sauce was great.
I’m glad to have stumbled across an authentic taste of traditional Thai cuisine.
It is a gift to have a restaurant that takes the time to prioritize the freshness and the quality of the food. You do not find this anywhere else. Few restaurants have a Chef that takes the time to greet customers and make dishes from scratch. it makes sense why so many people love this place.
