DID KIANI’S CLOSE!?!?! I haven’t seen them for the last two weeks and the rumor is they didn’t get their contract renewed for the new fiscal year. I really hope its a lie. BEST FOOD ON SCOFIELD!!!

I came for a small plate of chicken and left with everything.
I forgot my chicken for my homemade salad at home so I decided to grab a piece from here since in my head, it was the better option than the other battered and fried chicken options they sell at the food court there.
When I stood in line, I got blasted with the sweet bbq smoke from the chicken and kalbi on the grill. So then I started to justify in my head, “Well… what if I got shrimp too? I mean, its shrimp! It’s healthy. Ok ok ok. Just the mini chicken and shrimp plate. But look at that kalbi… looks so good. Ok, what if I get the combo plate and just have a taste of each of those things? Then technically I had some chicken with just a taste of shrimp and a taste of kalbi.” So I ordered the combo plate.
“Do you want salad or mac salad?” she asked me.
Since I’m already all in, I say, “Mac salad.” Because why not, right? Besides… its just a taste.
“The combo comes with a free drink, you can pick it out there.” So I walk over to the cooler and pick out a Pepsi. I mean, it would have been a waste of money to not take the drink and have water instead.
I walk back to my clinic thinking, “Just a taste. Eat your salad, Kira. Save the soda for another time.”
When lunch was over I threw my empty plate into the trash and gulped the Pepsi to wash it all down. Kiani’s 1, Kira eating healthy… a big fat zero. Oh well. It was worth it.

This is the best spot to eat on post. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel like Ohana. I eat here on a regular basis and take everyone that comes to the island here to eat.
