With 22 rotating craft drafts, a wide selection of craft bottles, wine, classic cocktails and an extensive selection of brown spirits, The Khyber Pass Pub is offering a fun and elevated bar program in addition to the food elements. The back bar was crafted by German woodworkers and used in the Centennial Celebration in 1876 prior to its use at Khyber Pass. The upstairs has six rotating crafts with a full bar and a large space for dancing, live music, art shows, private parties and more.
Cozy bar with Southern BBQ as well as a variety of vegan options backed by a vast beer selection.

I was visiting for a conference in town and we noticed this pub was close to our hotel so we went in for lunch one of the days. The burger was perfect; it got even better when paired with the fries. Both were so good that on my last night in the city, despite having eaten earlier, I stopped back in for the same burger and fries. I don’t have any pictures of it because I ate it so fast. I also ordered an interesting beer (pictures included) that was extremely refreshing.
The staff was beyond welcoming and was extremely attentive. I will for sure come back here the next time I’m in town. Thank you!

Went here for the first time for a late night meal on a Sunday. They have options for both omnivores and vegans.
When we got there everyone was sitting at the bar and no one was in the dining room. We chose to eat at a high top in the bar area. As the night went on people came in and sat in the dining room.
I ordered the vegan boudin balls and sweet corn succotash. My friend, who isn’t vegan, had the jambalaya and the surf and turf po boy.
The boudin balls weren’t as flavorful as I would have hoped. The succotash on the other hand was delicious. I ate every last drop. It had so much flavor. When vegetables taste like that more people will eat them.
My friend really enjoyed his food. The meat in the po boy was tender and the jambalaya had just the right amount of spice.
I ordered the vegan bananas foster dessert to go. They packed it well with all the fixings in separate containers. I ended up not eating it until a couple days later so that may have played into the taste. It was just ok. I wouldn’t necessarily need to get it again.
All in all this is a good spot to go late in the evening when you are looking for a decent meal.

The consistency of their menu is one of the reasons they rarely change it, as everything they offer is consistently delicious. In addition to their regular menu items, they offer a monthly Poboy special and a menu card that features some special items. Their drink menu is frequently updated to showcase new and seasonal craft beers.
During my visit, my friend opted for the parsnip and apple soup from the specials menu, which she described as bursting with apple flavor and absolutely delightful. Following that, she tried their gumbo, a well-known favorite that did not disappoint. As a vegan, I chose the vegan fried chicken Poboy from their regular menu, which featured seitan lightly breaded and fried, along with lettuce, tomato, pickles, vegan mayo, and Creole mustard on a Leidenheimer roll.
The Leidenheimer roll, reminiscent of a French baguette, added the perfect crunch to the sandwich. The seitan fried chicken was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The half sandwich was quite filling, especially when paired with an appetizer. We also ordered a side of sweet potato fries, which, although pricier than expected, were well worth it – perfectly cooked, crispy, and seasoned just right.
No visit to the Kyber Pass Pub is complete without trying their fried green tomatoes, made with buttermilk and absolutely delicious. For dessert, we indulged in the banana foster from their special menu, which was served cold and was a delightful treat for both of us.
The vibrant, diverse crowd and lively atmosphere at Kyber Pass Pub truly make it one of the best restaurants in the city. One of the great burgers around in Philly. The smash burger has lots of flavor even with one layer of patty. However it is kinda pricy to pay for a double patty burger for $16. The beers are on point here, however the sweet potato fries are lacking and taste soggy.

Beautiful bar! The homemade charcuterie board was delicious. The cocktails were unique and delightful! The only thing that was disappointing was that the bartenders seemed distracted and couldn’t wait to go home although it was still early. We were visiting from Hawaii and intentionally sat at the bar. They didn’t attempt to engage in conversation with any of the customers on the bar.

If you are in Philly and a beer lover this place is a must. Discovered entirely by chance whilst I was trying to resolve another issue and needed somewhere to sit down and make calls, I blundered across the wonder that is the Khyber Pass Pub.
Not only are the staff excellent, giving me one of their cables to recharge my phone, and take time to help a stranger with a problem, they also know their stuff and their beers.
They also know their music, a great selection, loud enough to get lost in, if you are on your own, quiet enough not to distract you if you are having a conversation.
The food is good and was one of the few places that got the portions right, enough to fill full, not enough to force you to waste or feel bloated.
The range of beers is great, regularly changing, only found one that I didn’t like and that was one of the imports. There are lots of good US beers, was really surprised to find English beer glasses.
In the short time I was in Philly, this became a regular haunt. If you are in the Old Town, I would say this is a definite place on your list. If you’re not in the Old Town, make the time to check it out, it’s as an important part of the Philidephia experience as a run up the Rocky Steps.

I’ve taken down quite a few vegan wings in my day but damn these without a doubt are the best I’ve had. They were juicy and the seitan was cooked just right so it didn’t feel tough. Yum.
And the desert truly caught me by surprise. It was a Bananas Fosters Custard which had caramelized bananas, vanilla custard, spiced wafer crumble, salted caramel (excerpt from online). I was reluctant because it looks like flan and me and flan ain’t homies. The first bite of the custard left me speechless. It is out of this world and you gotta try it.

Super cool and unique bar. They have a homemade bloody Mary mix. But the beer options are plenty and so unique. They have a cider with European apples, a peanut butter and jelly beer, and a fermented Washington cherry beer!
