I placed an order online for take-out, and it was ready shortly after I arrived. I ordered a good variety of food, as I have not enjoyed the cuisine in a while.
The garlic naan is fantastic. Very flavorful. Also love the saag paneer (spinach and cottages cheese with spices). I only ordered a half order, and you can see in my photo (dark green container) how large the portion size is! I also ordered samosas, keema samosas, and lamb vindaloo. I have never had lamb vindaloo, but this is delicious! Boneless lamb in a very flavorful spicy sauce. They also gave me a generous portion of perfectly-cooked rice, and I look forward to stirring half of it into my vindaloo and half into the paneer.
Maybe I’m just easy to please, or maybe folks in Oak Park are a bit snobby? I found the food to be delicious and a good value and am surprised by all the mixed reviews. If I lived locally I’d be here regularly.
We started with vegetable pakoras and samosas — the pakoras were decent, but the samosas really stood out. They were fresh, flavorful, and clearly made from scratch , definitely not the frozen kind.
For our mains, my husband had the Karahi Gosht and I ordered the Seekh Kabob, along with mango lassis to drink. Both dishes were excellent — full of flavor yet perfectly mild, which was a pleasant surprise since we both have a low spice tolerance.
We finished with the badami sheer, which was just the right level of sweetness and absolutely delicious.
Overall, the food, service, and ambiance were all fantastic. We’ll definitely be back.
I ordered the goat curry, and he had the chicken masala—both were flavorful and well-prepared. We also tried a variety of breads, which were absolutely lovely, especially fresh from the oven. Warm, soft, and perfect for soaking up the sauces. The staff was very attentive and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
The only real letdown was the ghost kebab (lamb kebab). What I received felt more like two large chunks of beefsteak tomatoes and barely any lamb—just two small pieces. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I ordered it a second time in the same visit… and got the exact same result. Honestly, it’s not worth the price, and I wouldn’t recommend it.
That aside, the rest of our meal was great, and we’re glad we stepped out of our comfort zone to try something new. Just skip the lamb kebab or any type of kebab if you go.
Samosas are always hit or miss for me, this place is definitely a hit!
The butter chicken is soft and flavorful.
Chicken tikka masala is on point!
The Naan was pure perfection.
And the rice amazing!
Everything here so far was well worth it. Totally recommend!
It doesn’t seem like your naan is actually Naan? I’m guessing you source it as pita bread from some wholesaler?
If you don’t wanna take my word for it simply go to any other Indian restaurant in Chicago or any neighboring suburb and you can easily see how different their dishes taste versus yours it’s also important because you’re the only Indian Restaurant in Oak Park you have to do better than this this is shockingly bad
