If I could give the atmosphere more than five stars I would, it’s a really cool place inside! They have swings instead of bar stools, how unique! Small but adequate sidewalk seating.
Melvin greeted me as soon as I arrived and was smooth, courteous and professional. He helped me make a decision from their extensive [meat -N- 2 sides + rice] menu and I was beyond pleased, not only by his suggestions but also by the choice I ended up making.
I normally shoot for vegan or vegetarian, but today was a very rare cheat day and boy I picked a winner. I got the ribs, done slow and smoky with a savory sauce with just the perfect blend of spiciness and sweetness. It wasn’t too sweet, and it wasn’t hot at all.
The rice was moist and properly cooked, it wasn’t mushy and not one grain was hard. It had a light flavor that helped offset the sweet spiciness of the ribs. Perfect pairing.
The green beans were yum yum yummy and were the first thing I finished. The black eyed peas… man, they pack a punch! They have a little zing to them, and they rounded out the meal very nicely.
If I was to complain (and I am NOT! I am FULL now from the medium rib plate…) the only thing that seemed missing would be a piece of cornbread.
DO recommend.

First time at Khi and Eli Food for the Soul, and my soul is so happy ! Great ambiance and delicious food combine for a great experience! The collard greens, macaroni and cheese, and fried pork chop were delicious. Don’t forget to order the banana pudding – so good!

Khi and Eli’s in Holyoke slapppps! Omggg I ordered their additional meat on the menu and wanted only whiting fish. Yo it was CRISPY, DELICIOUS and FRESH!! Hands down would eat here everyday. They’re always nice when you go, definitely recommend 10/10!!

Decided to get fried chicken and mac & cheese. I was surprised to have rice in the container and it was good. Fried chicken is very good. Mac and cheese had flavor but was dry. I will try them again.

I expected magnificent and they managed to exceed those expectations. Greens are so flavorful with the perfect spice. Of course the mac and cheese is . Got the whitefish and am pleased with the generous portion! It’s perfectly breaded and not the bit greasy. I am very impressed.

Great customer service, beautiful space and deliciois food. We waited a bit, however you can’t rush perfection! The menu hits all the right ‘food’ choices when considering southern cuisine. My wife had pork chops, and I picked the grilled chicken. Both of our meat choices were off-the-bone tender. For sides, we had mac and cheese, collard greens, candied yams and mashed patatoes. No disappointments here. The portions were reasonable to cost. And the vibe was just right for a Friday night after a long day. Great spot for all ages and all cultures. Did I say Great customer service?! If you don’t know, now you know! #holyoke

Salty….can’t say that enough. Fried whiting was 2 salty. Fried chicken plate wasn’t seasoned at all and next to no fries on the plate. Smothered chops were a joke 2 eat with flimsy plastic utensils. Served us in togo containers leaking gravy while we ate in this “restaurant”. No service. Not great food. Stay away
