Amazing restaurant! The owner is from Thailand and since I have been there I can definitely wouch for the authentic taste of the food. Out server was also very sweet, telling us about the history of the restaurant and recommending dishes.

been here many times, good thai food, very consistent with their food. have tried the stir fry holy basil with tofu, chive dumplings are great, drunken noodles are also good. wish they had more options for vegetarians like me, but I would still go here because they consistently delivery good quality food and don”t disappoint!

I got served the soda in a glass that had lipstick from the last patron not fully cleaned off, and the server didn’t know what “mild plus” was for spice levels. At $20-$30+ per dish, I was surprised at the lack of care with cleaning the glasses and the lackluster service. The one time the server checked on me he filled my Sprite with water.

The restaurant is open seating and half the shop is traditional chairs and tables while the other half of the shop is low tables to dine while sitting on cushions on the floor.

The pad Thai – the most common of all Thai dishes and a staple of any Thai restaurant – was fine. It’s nothing I’d write home about, or recommend to a friend. It was just… there. They’ve fallen into the trap of relying on added spice in substitution for having a good base flavor.

At just under $24 before gratuity for a pad Thai and a Sprite I wanted better. 2/5.

I was very impressed by the authentic Thai flavors! I looked for some time for a good Thai restaurant. Look no further, this is it. The authentic flavor is on point . They have a variety of seating options; you can sit outdoors on a lovely active pedestrian walk or inside. I recommend the indoor traditional floor seating with Mon Thai Pillows. My favorite dish was the “E-sarn Sausage” but be careful with the chilies are very spicy. The “Earth, Wind and Fire” was very delicious as well. If you like Duck they have a number of appetizing duck dishes.

Khaosan Road sits right on Giralda Plaza, one of those rare Coral Gables streets where people walk, linger, and let lunch stretch longer than planned. It is an easy place to return to, and for us, it has become exactly that.

We usually keep it simple here. One appetizer, two mains, shared. That rhythm works, and this kitchen rewards restraint.

The E sarn sausage is often our starting point. It is not the easiest dish to eat. The bites are big, a little chaotic, and require some commitment. But the payoff is real. Tangy pork, lime, ginger, peanuts, heat, all colliding into something deeply savory. Pure umami. Messy in the right way.

Over time, a few dishes have earned permanent status for us. The duck noodle soup is one of them. Clean, grounding, and quietly comforting, especially on cooler days. The duck curry brings richness without heaviness, while the duck basil delivers heat, aroma, and clarity. The pad woon sen is another favorite, glass noodles cooked with restraint and confidence, never sloppy.

We usually drink beer here, and it always fits. That said, the wine list is simple and fairly priced.

Half the year, we sit outside, soaking in the plaza when the weather behaves. During the hotter months, we move indoors, low tables, cushions, air conditioning, and a slower pace. Both spaces feel intentional, not decorative.

Service has always been solid for us. Straightforward, grounded, not overly friendly, not stiff. Balanced. You are taken care of without being hovered over.

This is not a restaurant chasing trends or trying to impress. It knows what it is and stays there. Good food, made with confidence, in a place that feels lived in. And that is exactly why we keep coming back.

We decided to go for some Thai food for lunch, it was a great idea to do it in Khaosan, the food was awesome, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm for a cold day in Miami.

We started with the Khao Soy soup, in reality we had ordered the Beef Stew but the waitress confused the ordered because we talked about both dishes. In any case it was a great confusion, the soup was delicious. Then we went for the Pad Thai, aiming for something traditional, and closed with the Kao Moo Dang.

The service was friendly and the atmosphere welcoming and Thai-like. We’ll certainly come back!

They do everything right with the food, but their service is distracted. Would definitely recommend the massamun curry, it was aromatic and rich. The fried rice had perfect flavor bursts! We had asked for extra plates, after a long wait we had to get them ourselves. They had forgotten a dish in our order, and we had to remind them to bring it.

Highly recommend the pad thai and khao soi! The pad thai was very delicious and the khao soi had just enough spice. 10/10 recommend. Will definitely come back to try other things. We also got the fried donuts which were very fresh

Khaosan Road is my absolute favorite place for Thai food. I’ve never had a Pad Thai as delicious as theirs. The atmosphere is fun and quiet and the service is efficient and kind. A must if you are looking for authentic Thai food at the Gables.
