We visited on Valentine’s Day and after our delicious meal of curry and Thai basil stir fry, our mango sticky rice desert was served with this beautiful presentation. Since mangos are not in season, they import theirs and they were perfectly ripe. The blue sticky rice was great too. The restaurant is affordable priced and our dinner hit the spot! If you want a comforting meal you can’t go wrong here.

There are a lot of Thai restaurants in Portland. Khao San is the hidden gem for Thai food in this city and they have been opened for over decades.
Foods ; Pretty authentic taste like you eat the local foods in Thailand you might not need to ask any condiments to add on just tell your server what you wanna eat and the level of spice you can handle ..That’s it !! Their food presentation is so beautiful, they garnish foods with eatable flowers and greens that make food more fancy and unique. I’d recommend the grilled menus such as Kor moo yang, Gai yang , Crying tiger or Ping, they marinated meats with their sauces and served with the house special dipping sauces moreover if you order smth grills, Do not forget to order papaya salad to eat with grill menu that is good combination like a perfect pair of red wine and steaks in version of dining at Thai cuisine. Other items that I would recommend are Khao Soi, Chineses broccoli with crispy pork belly, Pad thai, Pad see ew, Pad kee mao, Holy basil (Pad kra pow) , Duck curry, Massaman curry with crispy roti, Those items really hit the spot. You won’t be disappointed if you order them for sure..!!

Cocktails; they have a lot of signature cocktails and mocktails on the drink menu, their cocktails are very interesting, It is combined between Eastern – Tropical ingredients mixed with Western mixology style, for example they make cocktails from Thai tea, Lychee, Green tea and other tropical ingredients that they can find in the US . Lychee sorbet martini, Phuket fantasy and Forest Gump are my favorites but I have to come back here again to try their cocktails more.

Atmosphere; Fun environment like you are on Khao San Road in Thailand that well known for the tourists from around the globe. They have dining table TuK Tuk inside the restaurant that you don’t have to fly over 17 hours to Thailand for riding on Tuk Tuk.

Service: The foods come out pretty fast, friendly and helpful staff.

I had lunch here on a business trip and was pleasantly surprised by the food and how sweet the servers were. I got the lunch special Pad See Mao with chicken (medium spice) and a Thai iced tea. The spice level was a bit hot for a medium, but perfect for me. If you like really spicy food, this place will deliver the heat! The tea was perfectly sweetened, creamy and not too strong of a tea flavor. The ladies taking orders and serving food were very kind and polite, greeting people happily and sending guests off with a smile as well. The place was busy during lunch but they are efficient in cleaning tables and getting people sat and served. The only thing that would make the atmosphere better would be better music 🙂 (totally a personal issue tho!!) Although there is lots of Thai food to choose from in Portland, I’d recommend this spot in the Pearl District for lunch

Great Thai vibe and very friendly service. Sadly the food didn’t meet my expectation. If you love spicy, make sure to order your food with spice level 5+. Small portion. Seasoning isn’t bad but a little on the sweet side. Everything was average except for the spicy fish, it was very good. If you don’t like raw mung bean, don’t order the mango sticky rice, it ruined the taste, also the sticky rice was a little mushy. Crying tiger was chewy but good sauce

So consistently good, and the staff is chill, atmosphere is fun! Food is Locals get this place. Insta-chasers typically don’t know how to review Khao San. Act like a local – try the Khao San Ginger Lager (fire) and their cocktail menu and beer tower make for a fun Sunday afternoon!

2/13/26 Here we are again! Crying and oodles of – this is HOOD GOOD!

A restaurant named after a trendy and vibrant street in Thailand, which is only about 300 meters long but known as a gathering spot for travelers from around the world. As expected, I checked the chef’s nationality before entering, and the place was decorated with an interior that exuded an authentic local vibe. The restaurant featured an open-concept “Hangover” bar at the front and was equipped with outdoor tables.
Our friendly and witty server, Catie, ensured a delightful dining experience with her proficient and swift service. The menu was well-organized, just like local ones, with detailed explanations and pictures of the dishes, and the food itself offered a nearly authentic taste. It was a joy to savor flavors reminiscent of those I used to enjoy, and while I could have eaten more, I opted to pack the leftovers to enjoy for dinner with other dishes.
I highly recommend this restaurant. If you’re looking to experience traditional Thai cuisine, don’t hesitate to pay a visit!

This was a really nice spot. It had a really good layout, a big bay door entry, clean, and a beautiful view of the walking bridge. The service was quick and prompt, and their plating was phenomenal. (FLOWERS ON MY PLATE, AND DRINK?! YESSSSS) The food wasn’t as spicy as I was hoping. But they brought over spices to bring it up to my insane level of spice. Not enough spice is a me problem, not them. I will be coming back!

Discovered this place by accident and it was such a happy surprise, it was quiet for a Thursday dinner so we got taken care of extra quick. The drink menu was plenty and the one I picked “phuket fantasy” had me at hello. Some of the best Tom yum soup i’ve had in a while and the entrees where generously portioned and the presentation was wonderful, tried two different items, the khao san basil rice with ground pork was delicious. Can’t wait to try different items on the menu,

Had walked by this place so many times and finally gave it a try. The interior itself is roomy and spacious with large wood beams and fun Thai decor. We grabbed a couple menus and sat ourselves.

Wound up going with the fish cakes and the basil chicken which we split. The food itself was tasty and flavorful. The portions I’d say were about mid range based on the price. We weren’t the hungriest so I’d be interested in coming back and trying it another time.

Service across the board was solid. We had water brought out immediately when we arrived which was great and the food also came out fast. I was a little confused on where to actually order and pay from since there was a pay here sign at the front but everything else was table service. All in all a nice place to stop by for a quick bite.
