ONE WEEKEND. TWO RESTAURANTS. TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORIES. ️
STORY ONE:
Walked into Khurasan Kebab and ordered the Khorasani platter and WOW. The meat was juicy, perfectly cooked, and so fresh, it melted in my mouth. But here’s the real kicker:
the owner, Mehar, was incredibly humble and gracious. The food spoke for itself, but his hospitality sealed the deal. I walked out having just booked $160 worth of catering on the spot. That’s how you win customers for life!

STORY TWO: The Disaster

Now buckle up for this one…
Stopped at Khan Baba on US Route 130. Ordered two boxes of rice to go and asked to try their BBQ. What did they offer me? Old, FROZEN items so Ichanged my mind. When I asked for fresh BBQ, they claimed they were “super busy” meanwhile, I was literally the ONLY customer there. No line. Empty seats. Just excuses.
Their “promotion about10 dollars chicken”?
Order in advance, pick up Thursday only. For $10 chicken. Seriously?
The worst part? I gave them a chance anyway. Brought the food home. The Malang Jaan lasted exactly ONE MINUTE before it hit the trash. The seekh kebab especially the beef followed right behind it. ️
(No photos for Story Two because I’m not documenting garbage.) But last moment adding it so establishment should pay attention.

THE LESSON: Fresh food and genuine hospitality will always win. Stale food and attitude will always lose.

We tried the weekend buffet brunch today at this North Brunswick location of Khan Baba (other location is in Franklin Park.) Greeted with warmth by the Chef Rashad Ikram we were advised that fresh food was on its way while we were settling in with some delicious sweet mango lassi. Chef took time to explain each dish’s origin, such as Royal Mutanjan, a classic Mughal dessert of sweet, multi-colored rice rich and decadent is considered a royal dish. All the dishes were prepared with fresh organic home made spices. The menu was brief but the dishes were delicious. We sampled on Channa/Bhatura, Keema Kadai, Lahori Chicken, Mutton Kunna along with freshly made steaming Nan served at the table. There was warm , delectable halwa to go with a huge fluffy puri. Each dish was tastefully prepared and meats were melt-in-the-mouth soft. The gravy was not overly spicy or creamy! Firnee, a creamy traditional rice pudding served cold with sprinkled nuts, completed a well balanced brunch. Kudos to the Chef! A must-try.

Amazing Experience at Khan Baba – North Brunswick!

Update: 12-6-2025.

Khan Baba: A Must for Pulao & Biryani Lovers!
If you’re in North Brunswick, you must try the rice dishes at Khan Baba.
The Biryani (I had the text{Goat}) is truly sublime—perfectly cooked, separate basmati grains infused with a deep, complex, and aromatic spice blend. It’s authentic and unforgettable.
The Pulao is equally impressive but showcases a lighter, more fragrant, and delicately spiced flavor profile. It’s a wonderful contrast to the Biryani’s richness.
Both dishes are masterfully prepared, demonstrating a clear commitment to quality and authenticity. Generous portions, fantastic value, and incredible flavor. Highly recommended!

I recently tried Khan Baba’s new Degi Charga promotion, and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced—easily one of the best Charga dishes I’ve had in the area.

A special shout-out to Chef Rashid, who truly made the experience memorable. His attention to detail, warm personality, and dedication to quality really shined through in the dish. You can tell he puts genuine care into his food.

Highly recommend stopping by and trying the Degi Charga while the promotion lasts. Khan Baba never disappoints!

This is such a great restaurant ! Me and my family have been having Khan Baba’s food for years and they never fail to have exceptional service and delectable halal food. We’ve never had a bad experience with them despite many visits. The workers here are very nice and hospitable. Not only is the food very affordable, but it is also so flavorful.

I highly recommend you come here with your family and have a great time! Overall 10/10

The new promotion Khan Baba, North Brunswick, launched $10 a dish, changing every day is a total steal . Yesterday I tried their Hyderabadi Biryani and Kabli Pulao, and both were solid. Today they added Paya and Kunna to the same $10 deal, so I went back and tried them with fresh Kulcha. Absolutely incredible .

Chef Rashid Ikram deserves all the credit. He doesn’t just cook well… he feels like a magician in the kitchen ✨ ‍ . Five stars not only for the restaurant, but for the man behind this amazing taste ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

I am from New York and every so often I visit North Brunswick to spend time with my boyfriend. Upon visiting, I was greeted with the warmest energy from a man working there. Automatically his energy radiated just from the food he wanted us to sample. He said “we use real, natural spices” and I loved every second of being there. I loved the pride he carried with his food, each sample was amazing. After speaking with this wonderful person, I found out his name is Rashed. I highly recommend anyone if they love South Asian food to try Khan Baba. You’ll love the experience. Now this restaurant is a staple when I come over! THANK YOU for your service and treating us so nice!! <3 <3 <3

Pulao tastes amazing and you can really feel the quality of the organic spices. Everything is well seasoned and flavorful. However, the food portion size is quite small. I would recommend increasing the box size. Also, a price of $11.99 or $12.99 would be more reasonable than $10 if the portion is improved.

I visited Khan Baba on Monday and it was one of the most awkward dining experiences I’ve had. I went specifically for Peshawari pulao and Kabuli pulao, but was told both were finished. In fact, I was told the restaurant only had two dishes available—kunna and paya—from Sunday dinner, with no menu at all.

The restaurant was completely empty, with only one person handling both orders and service. When we decided to try kunna, we were asked whether it was takeout or dine-in, and were told that dining in would require paying a gratuity fee.

Overall, the lack of menu, limited food options, and confusing service made the experience uncomfortable and disappointing.
