Ok, got those two key points out of the way. Now to rave about this place! I loved it. I’ve been wanting to check this place out since I moved down the street a few years ago. The bartender was super friendly and happily explained the membership requirement. I also got to chat to a few of the regulars.
It is an intimate space, but it was really nice. It is all bar stool seating and there’s a step up into the bar and then another couple of steps to the bathroom. So not ADA friendly, but like most bars they’re just dealing with the cards they were dealt in the early 1900s when they were opened!
Over all, you should go check it out if you’re interested in finding your own little local watering hole.

First time there yesterday. What took me so long. A dive sure..but cheap beer and bourbon. Friendly bartender.. I think I have found a new drinking spot. On side note I have had the exact same thing to drink the last 3 times there…in number and type of drinks. Bill has been 3 different prices. Still inexpensive though.

Keyhole Tavern is a fantastic spot for great drinks and excellent service. The crowd is eclectic, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for a low-key night out. Keep in mind that it’s a BYOF spot, as no food is served on the premises, so plan accordingly.

You have to be a member to visit. $10 for a membership. Apparently the drinks are cheap and they don’t serve food. I opted to leave but the bartender was really nice. Seems like an older working man small neighborhood bar. One star since I didn’t stay.

My 1st private dive bar experience in KC and this place is epic. Enjoy good pours and less expensive drinks and know that they’re cash only. The regulars are inviting and seem to know everyone. Good place to pass time after a Royals game or for a nightcap. No food, but there is Golden Tee and a jukebox.

Awesome cash only dive bar/club with it’s own community. $10 and you’re a member of the club. You can buy smokes, drink booze, and enjoy the bar service. No food, no fancy stuff, just a down to earth place to relax with your friends.
