I love local spots on this was a great find. About 30 minutes outside of Green Bay sits this humble roadside eatery.

The parking lot is a little tight but that’s because of all of the traffic.

Had the bacon burger with cheese, onion rings, and a small custard with caramel.

The burger was good, but needed salt and pepper. The bun was soft yet crispy on the edges. Not the best burger I’ve ever had but still delicious. The onion rings were fresh, and you can tell prepared in house.

The custard was good, and the caramel sauce was a great addition. I couldn’t finish the small dish, and they offer up to what looks like quarts.

If you find yourself in Kewanee be sure to check them out.

First time visiting and this little place did not disappoint. Burgers were delicious. Custard was delicious. Perfect way to end a beach day! Family of 4 spent about $75 on meals and dessert a splurge for our family but we’ll only do this once a year. Can’t wait to go back next summer!

The custard is divine! The cheeseburgers, fries, and chicken is all very good and cooked to order. You can tell that the beef is fresh and not frozen patties! The cashier and cook were both very nice. I highly recommend!

Had lunch here in 8/9/21 @ about 12pm…

Great place if u are looking for treats. I got a burger special with choice of chili or dries. I got the chili. I absolutely live chili. But this was way watered down. More beans than chili. Not meaty at all. No flavor. Like warm for a temp. Fries that my buddy got were greasy and just ok. Burger was lame. It was to have lettuce in it. It had a flake. The cheese had no flavor. The patty was good and the bbq was ok. But not much in the burger. Now if custard is your thing: stop here. If u love food…. Don’t eat here. Staff was friendly. Drive thru is always busy.

Clean inside. Bathroom was kinda dirty really kinda gross.

It this is a nice place if u want to stop in for some custard or treats.

I got a Diet Pepsi and my buddy for a root beer. The machine was off and our drinks didn’t taste right.

Whole experience was over $30 bucks. Kinda expensive for food and a treat. My sundae was SMALL. Very small. And was like 4.50….

I would suggest a cone. They are huge! Ans look very good!!!

Drop in and if u have a positive experience, which I was seriously disappointed…. Leave a positive review if u like the joint.

Until the next review,
-Steve-O, out!

Custard is not all melted n soupy like it was last year. Big improvement to the core product there!! See pic. Still slow service by predominately teenager type staff. 3.5 stars. They need more training in customer friendliness. Workers shouldn’t stand around either, clean or organize something. Way too much reddi-whip on the strawberry shortcake- not enough custard. See pic.
In an interesting twist, this fine establishment appears to have global ambitions – as attested to by the Japanese sign.
I would have written it as キュワ二ー 凍結カスタードアンドグリル or キュワ二ー 冷凍カスタードアンドグリル. They emphasize the “ke” sound but Kewaunee isn’t pronounced that way.

Another family owned jem in Kewanee. The burgers are completely outstanding, and the custard is some of the best I have eaten anywhere. It’s great to see a family working together and producing such great food and service. Thank you.

Always a busy and popular place of course. The custard is always good and the items are always tasty, but for some reason it always seems to melt a lot faster than any other custard place I’ve been to. Most of the time the staff is good, but once in a while you’ll get some younger workers with attitude. Overall not a bad spot though, great tasting custard.

Review:

I recently am changing my review due to this restaurant being seasonal and locale, in which consists of new employees every year.

This year I ordered from this establishment six times, and 4/6 orders were terrible experiences. Keep in mind the restaurant has great cuisine. The issues are that most employees hired are local high school students within the area and younger generation individuals (oldest in appearance to be estimated at 23-25 years).

The service issues seem to dwell in organization of employee positions and proper training. I ordered once inside (three malts, a cheese cake, and a brownie) and my order got messed up three times and took over twenty-five minutes to fulfill. Today on 5/28/2024 We waited ten minutes for three malts and the vehicle behind us left due to lengthy order times. I once again ordered three malts (one cherry and two pineapple) and was served by a different person through the drive through for each individual malt. The plastic containers were not properly wiped off upon serving, leaving access ice cream running own the sides. The mixing of the malts was poor (indicated in uploaded photographs- except for the cherry, which was consumed before the review was made).

This entire conundrum of service is assumed to be due to a chaotic management process involving inexperienced teenagers in the workforce with lack of organization. This maybe due to difficulty with new employees each season, or the teenage/young adult staff clustering due to absence of management supervision or, again, lack of training.

** I will not be returning anymore this season (summer)**

MEMO:

It seems to be a trend here in the area of Kewaunee, Wisconsin that businesses fail. The longest surviving businesses to date are Piggly Wiggly and Dollar General. The rest have failed (over eight in a nineteen year period). It’s usually due to misleading customers due to improper titles ( if I went to a place called the Irish Pub, I would expect Irish cuisine, not an all American bar/grill) or lack of business due to the winter season and very little customers (poor location). Take everything here in this area with a grain of salt. Even the city council has lack of management due to resigning parties and lack of interest. The education is VERY POOR, and the Sheriff (Law Enforcement) wants to build a jail in a “city” of 2500 people, rather than anywhere else in the entire county.

“Doesn’t everyone want to move in next to a jail?”

Nice little frozen custard place and grill. The custard is wonderful, and the servings are abundant! The grill food – burgers, chili-cheese fries, etc. are very reasonably priced and are cooked fresh to order.
We make a stop there every time we are on our way to or from Door County – a nice break and a treat from driving.

Fun Good ol fashioned ice cream parlor but with frozen custard. Flavour of the day changes for nice variety but always has vanilla n chocolate. Owner is extremely friendly and employs teenagers to give them work experience. Great local business
