Fantastic! We stopped in on a whim and we’re not disappointed. Very relaxed and welcoming vibe. We had the butter naan, paneer tikka masala, tandoori Momo’s and pav bahji. All were very flavorful and cooked perfectly. I highly recommend this place, we will definitely be back again!

This restaurant had a very strong welcoming vibe and no wonder since it’s a family run business. When we found out that the owner’s wife is the one cooking our dishes, we then understood that it was no wonder that the food felt like home. Top notch Indian food. Extra comfort points if you’re a vegetarian (it was a relief knowing there’d be no cross contamination). Try the Kofta and naan if you’re there.

I tried this place despite it having only vegetarian dishes and am 100% happy I did because everything I ordered was absolutely delicious. I ordered for takeout the veg Manchurian dry, veg fried rice Manchurian and Kadai Paneer. I’m just visiting from Ottawa for a week but wish I lived here so I could order this every week and try more dishes. It was seriously good, even reheated as lefovers the next day. Try it or you’re missing out on something wonderful.

I ordered the Dal Makhani, Paneer Khadai, Tawa Pulao, and Tandoori Roti, and every single item was nothing short of extraordinary. The Dal Makhani was velvety, rich, and bursting with deep, smoky flavor — it instantly transported me back to India, reminding me of the legendary restaurants known for their soulful food. The Paneer Khadai was perfectly balanced — aromatic, flavorful, and cooked with real finesse. The Tawa Pulao was simply phenomenal — fresh, vibrant, and full of that irresistible street-style charm. And the Tandoori Roti? Perfectly done — soft yet crisp around the edges, just the way it should be.
It’s rare for food to truly impress me after two decades in professional kitchens, but this restaurant never fails to wow me with their food. Keval’s Kitchen delivers heart, passion, and authenticity in every bite. Without a doubt, this is the best Indian food I’ve had in Halifax — perhaps even in all of Canada.

The green Chutney was a bit of letdown but the red chutney was tangy and bold.
Dosa was good for the price. The texture and the filling were well cooked and crisp.

My partner has been wanting to try Keval’s for a while now, as she has been looking for authentic south Indian flavours and dishes. She was not disappointed (nor was I). The food was absolutely amazing; the masala dosa was the best I’ve had in Halifax thus far. It was also my first time trying chaat, and I LOVED it!
The restaurant is small, but it’s warm and inviting and it is clearly loved by locals. We will be coming back!

This place was great! I just went half an hour ago and got the Dal Tadka and Steamed Rice. Everything was reasonably priced, and tasted amazing! Not to mention, staff were friendly and the place had a great atmosphere. Highly highly highly recommend and will be going back soon
