This place is not the same place it was. It is a great disappointment. I would frequent this place and would be the place I would recommend for a great cocktail. Now I would warn people from coming here. There is not a lot of great cocktail bar outside the he city of Chicago. Just avoid it.

I attempted to enter Grove Cocktails at 105 S Marion Street, Oak Park today and was stopped at the door by the manager, who told me, “You cannot come in here.”
When I asked for a reason, she said, “We don’t want your kind.”
I was alone, not intoxicated, not disruptive, and not violating any laws. No other explanation was given.
Oak Park is a community known for valuing inclusion, diversity, and respect for people of all backgrounds. Language and conduct like this directly contradict those values and create an unwelcoming environment that reflects poorly on the village and its businesses.
I hope ownership and management take this seriously and ensure that patrons are treated with professionalism and dignity.

I’ve visited twice and have had an amazing night both times! The bartenders, Eric, Jessica, Sarah and Joe are so friendly, energetic, and knowledgeable, they really are a part of the experience and they even make off menu cocktails that are delicious. The cocktails are very good and while I haven’t eaten much, I did try the polenta bites and they were delish!
Update! I’ve visited The Grove 4 or 5 times now (even the evening after my wedding!) and it’s still amazing Tonight I had the lumpia and some dessert with cocktails and everything was delicious!

Exquisite cocktails served here. The Suburban cocktails bar is a rare gem, offering masterfully crafted cocktails by an experienced bartender. While I didn’t sample the small plates, they looked delectable.

Probably one of the best expresso martinis we’ve had around the Chicagoland areas but unfortunately will not be back due to lack of service. Took about an hour for our charcuterie board to come out, was told he would give us a discount due to the wait but did not receive it. Javier was a nice but was not attentive to his tables.

The cheese board was really sparse for the price…the cheese texture was a lot of rind I’m really displeased because I wanted to try this place so bad since I got to kettle strings tavern often and they have amazing staff. The 1st time I came it was closed although it said they were open at 2pm online….definitely don’t waste your time…Anfora is just steps away no cocktail but better and fresher offering for a cheese board and a glass of wine

Got a quick drink here on a Saturday night after being turned away from a restaurant that was too busy. The music was really good and our drinks were delicious. We also got to share a conversation with someone who appeared to be the owner. Everyone was kind and helpful. I’m excited to return.

I’m not sure what happened to this place, but it’s definitely not the same. When they first opened, the ambiance was great — dim lighting, great music, and exceptional bartenders, especially Eric and the girl bartender that worked with him, the original ones who really knew how to take care of guests.
We there on Saturday around 9:15 to celebrate a friend’s birthday — a group of 12 of us. As soon as we arrived, we were told they were closing at 10 due to a private event. I ordered a club soda, a glass of wine, and a mixed drink — it took them 30 minutes to serve the drinks.
Just 10 minutes after finally getting them, I was handed the tab. I told the bartender we’d like to at least finish what we had just received, since we had about 10 minutes left before we got kicked out and he replied, “Well, if you’re not done, you still have to go by 10 pm.”
This was by far the worst service I’ve experienced at this place. The new bartenders don’t seem to know what they’re doing, and the drinks were terrible. I will never go back to this place while the two bartenders are working there.

The recent poor reviews are because they lost ALL the good staff…especially Eric. He would always greet us IMMEDIATELY and find us a spot even when packed. Great service and drinks! Now it’s awful.
