When I went to pay, the total came to around $30, which is extremely overpriced for what I received! It seems like they randomly price customers for sweets.
Once I brought the sweets home, we realized they were clearly NOT fresh at all. They tasted EXTREMELY old and dry, with very heavy food coloring and an strong, gross artificial rose-water flavor in some pieces. The texture and taste made it obvious they were not made fresh in the store — they seemed like something that came off a ship from overseas/India and not freshly prepared.
This was honestly the worst mithai I’ve ever had, and it was really disappointing — especially for a holiday purchase. I will not be returning, and I strongly recommend avoiding the sweets here. The owner also wasn’t very friendly, which added to the overall negative experience.
However, there was a girl from the staff who didn’t know how to behave properly, which was a bit disappointing. On the positive side, a boy from the staff came over and handled the situation very gently and professionally. He listened to us calmly and solved the issue nicely, which made a big difference in our overall experience.
Great food and appreciation for the staff member who managed the situation so well. Hope the service consistency improves in the future.
Dal Makhani – Delicious
Kesari Special Paneer – Average in taste.
Breads – well cooked
We tried dahi bhalla n cauliflower honey chilli
Both were good
Very neat and clean restaurant
The thali tasted very average, all the sabzis were fairly neutral not at all tasty or flavorful.
The portion of sabzis given is so small literally just two spoons of each sabzi. It does not give just to the price asked.
I really hoped and looked forward to a tasty dinner meal but our mood was literally spoiled after dining in.
Same was the case with Raj kachori, no flavour at all nor did it tasted fresh.
We go to Kesari on 152st often to eat paranthas which are genuinely nice, but the thali and raj kachori were literally average.
Really disappointed, it is not able to keep up with the hype
definitely not coming back wouldn’t recommend
