Great place for a hotdog! The staff were happy, friendly, and helpful. You can tell they really like where they work. Curb side service is wonderful.

This was our first time here today. We had to come to a doctor appt in the area. We live about 1 1/2 hour away and thought we would try it.
The sign says curb service after 4:00pm and we were about to go in and order but a sweet lady came over to take our order.
The food was good. The Hamburger was a little dry, but the hot dog was delish, we shared fries and onion rings which was also very good.
It’s not on the best neighborhood, so would not come here alone. Overall we enjoyed our lunch.

Made my first trip to Kermit’s Hot Dogs in Winston-Salem, and honestly… it was worth the drive, even with North Carolina ice on the roads. I won’t be able to go as often since it’s on the other side of town, but I’ll definitely be back—probably this summer.
We ordered chili cheese dogs, fries, and even grabbed a plain hot dog for our dog . Everything was spot on. The chili cheese dogs were incredible—perfect buns, great chili, and that classic balance that’s hard to get right. Chili cheese dogs are my favorite topping combo anywhere, and I don’t say this lightly: these were better than Cook Out and Dairy-O.
The fries were fresh and hit just right, and the whole place reminded me of going to Sonic as a kid—not just the food, but the atmosphere. Simple, nostalgic, affordable, and really tasty.
We were there celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday, which made it even better. Good food, good vibes, and prices that don’t make you regret treating yourself. Kermit’s earned a return visit.

Had hot dogs, a cheeseburger and small side salad. Salad was simple, but fairly big for the price, and the ranch was good. Hot dogs (all the way) were great (the red kind), especially the chili and slaw. Cheeseburger was tasty as well! Staff was super friendly and accommodating!

The vibe is amazing here – It’s like stepping into a scene from a 70s movie. Very retro and simple, with large windows all around the building + a drive in area if you want to eat in your car. The staff was super friendly and down to earth as well. As for the food, it’s simple and affordable American grub. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, shakes, fries, etc. It honestly wasn’t too flavorful, but it was enjoyable and filling nonetheless. In other towns, many spots like this pride themselves on their secret chili recipe or burger seasonings, but I didn’t get that here. Just simple food with a great atmosphere.

Legendary Hot Dog joint. RED hotdogs! If ya know ya know! Also all the other menu items youd expect at a diner. I always make it a destination when I know I’ll be close by. Its only a very short detour off I-40 when passing thru Winston-Salem. Old school drive up service or take out or you can eat at the bar, tables or outdoor picnic tables. I heard this year its up for sale. Someone please keep this gem alive!!!

Best Hot Dogs in the County, maybe the entire State!!!! 1st time and the environment was fantastic. Sat at a picnic table and they came to us and took our order. Hot dog buns were pressed and lightly toasted. Only thing missing was red Slaw. Im not a white Slaw guy, but thiers was good.
