We really loved this location. Our server was wonderful, very friendly, in a great mood, with fast service, and that honestly made the whole experience for us. We had breakfast there, and it was delicious. Everything was done perfectly: the eggs, the potatoes, everything. It really made me think that it all comes down to the specific location and the staff. They’re the ones who create the overall impression of a café and its atmosphere. This was a truly great breakfast.

We had a wonderful experience at Kirby Lane! This was our first time visiting, and we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. Achi provided outstanding customer service—she made our entire family laugh and feel so welcome. She took the time to walk us through the menu, which we really appreciated as first-time guests. To make it even more special, she drew pictures of us on our to-go box and on the receipt, which was such a thoughtful and fun touch. The food was great/latte and Bloody Mary. the service made the experience unforgettable. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I popped into Kerby Lane late last night after driving to South Austin for something off FB Marketplace. It was open and we were hungry.
The restaurant was nearly empty, but I was impressed with the menu and the food was good. My wife ordered the Kimchi Beef and I got the Meatloaf. The portions were average, which was good since it was late and I didn’t want to overeat.
Our server, Ben, was charming but absent most of the meal. Can’t really blame him so much since it was late. Once we’d finished, we had to wait a bit to get the check.
Overall a good experience and I liked the food. We would definitely return.

My husband and I went there for the first time amd we loved it. Relaxed atmosphere, lots of room and not felt crammed or crowded. Our server, Christina, was excellent, friendly, and attentive. Wide variety of food on the menu, difficult to decide what to order because everything sounded delicious.
They also have an all-day breakfast menu.
My husband decided to try the Chicken Pesto Panini and he absolutely loved it.
I got a memorable and the Eggs Francisco. Oh man that was good!
They put a lot of food on the plate, so we took home left-overs.

One of the best local restaurants in Austin! Make sure to make a reservation — the wait time can easily be around an hour on weekends, though they do have a convenient virtual waitlist.
We ordered the Coconut Curry Salmon and the Chicken with Pancakes — both were absolutely delicious and highly recommended! The place can get quite crowded, but they have plenty of servers, which helps. Our food took about 25 minutes to arrive, but it was well worth the wait.

I love Kerby, childhood diner spot. My boyfriend and I went and had dinner there tonight, and we had a great server. His name was Logan. Highly recommend the crabcakes as an appetizer, and the thai ginger shrimp is my favorite. But this night we had the classic Kerby burger and buffalo chicken sandwich.

For all my gluten free friends. I have never had a pancake I couldn’t eat but I took one bite and physically couldn’t eat it anymore. This was my first time here and I didn’t ask for a refund and they didn’t offer or ask how my meal was. They charged extra for GF too.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to reach Magnolia Cafe on Congress the last 2 times for a family breakfast. So, we resort to the Kerby Lane Cafe on William Cannon and Mopac so we can park. I cannot attest to Magnolia but surely there has to be a better breakfast diner besides a taco cart (we have excellent taco place eat there instead). For a sit down breakfast the wait staff is the highlight. The food was served before one of the diners (me) had their meal – unforgivable. Maybe that would have been ok if it was good. Mine was not- the chicken panini contained little chicken and was greasy. My coffee was nerve refilled or asked. The week before when we visited half my omelet ended up in half of my omelet. Plus the fruit tasted unthawed from frozen. Our chips were broken into the size of Lego blocks for our queso. Why wait so long and pay for poor food.

As usual I come out of Kerbey Lane disappointed. The food was better than previous visits. Incredibly loud restaurant and the AC was blasting to the point that it was unbearable. We asked the waitress if she could get the temperature up, but she said that the AC is sheared with the kitchen and so the whole restaurant is affected, unbelievable…

No wait on a Friday mid morning. Interesting expansive menu. Eggs Francisco was delicious. Pancake was perfect and fluffy. I wish they offered real butter as opposed to margarine. Specialty latte was great. Staff was very friendly from entry in the front door to wait staff and manager even came by and checked on us. I would definitely eat here again.
